The morning sun filtered through the school windows as Lisa and Jennie walked hand-in-hand through the front doors, feeling light and full of energy after the night they shared. The halls buzzed with the typical noise of students getting ready for the day, lockers clattering open and shut, and the excited chatter of friends reuniting after the weekend.
Jennie was holding a water bottle, repeatedly nudging it toward Lisa's lips. "Drink up," Jennie said, her tone equal parts bossy and sweet.
Lisa groaned playfully, scrunching her nose. "Jennie, I'm fine. I don't need to hydrate every second."
Jennie, however, was relentless, holding the bottle up until Lisa took another reluctant sip. "I swear, you're like a little kid sometimes."
Lisa wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and gave Jennie a lazy grin. "Your baby, right?"
Jennie rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress her smile. As they approached their locker area, they spotted Jisoo and Rose leaning casually against the lockers, clearly waiting for them.
"Well, well," Jisoo greeted them with a knowing smirk as soon as they walked up. "Look at you two. You both look like you've been—" she paused for dramatic effect, tilting her head slightly as if she were inspecting them. "—all over each other to the point that you've eaten each other alive."
The comment hung in the air for a split second. Jennie felt her cheeks warm at the implication, but it was Lisa who had the real reaction. Jisoo's words must have triggered a very specific memory, one involving last night and the quiet, intimate moments they had shared—moments that were now replaying vividly in Lisa's mind.
Just as she was taking a big gulp of water, Lisa choked, her eyes going wide as the water went down the wrong pipe. In a matter of seconds, a comical spluttering sound escaped her, and before she could control it, water shot out of her nose like a fountain.
Jennie's eyes widened in panic, immediately rushing to Lisa's side. "Oh my god, Lisa!" she gasped, patting her back. "Are you okay?"
Lisa couldn't speak, coughing so much that her face was turning red, but between the coughs and gasps for air, she was making odd squeaky noises. Her eyes watered from the intensity of it, while Jennie kept fussing over her, worried and trying not to laugh at the same time.
Meanwhile, Jisoo and Rose exchanged looks, their lips curling into mischievous grins. "Well," Rose said, raising her eyebrows, "that reaction says it all."
Jisoo leaned forward, smirking even more, her voice dripping with playful accusation. "So, it's true then? You two did—" she made a dramatic pause, wiggling her eyebrows—"get busy last night, didn't you?"
Lisa, still wheezing and attempting to catch her breath, turned bright red, her mind flashing back to exactly how "busy" they had been. She couldn't even form words, only managing to cough out a few garbled syllables. Jennie, who had been patting Lisa's back and holding the water bottle to her side, felt her own face heat up at Jisoo's words.
Rose leaned in, crossing her arms with a teasing grin. "Oh come on, Lisa. Your face is basically a confession at this point."
Still struggling to breathe, Lisa pointed at Jisoo with a half-hearted glare, her voice strained. "Shut up," she managed to rasp out between coughs, but the damage was already done. Jisoo and Rose erupted into laughter.
"That's what I thought," Jisoo quipped, a satisfied grin on her face as she winked at Jennie, who was still trying to maintain her composure, despite her growing embarrassment.
Finally catching her breath, Lisa shot a mock glare at the two troublemakers, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "You guys are the worst," she muttered, still sounding a little congested from all the water that had gone through her nose.
