Radha's Pov
The room felt suffocating, the walls closing in as his voice echoed in my mind. "I want you, Birdie. Only you."
My stomach twisted in a painful knot. My son—my baby—was in the hands of a monster. A monster I thought I had escaped.
"Rose, look at me," Krishna's voice was firm yet gentle, grounding me. His hands cupped my face, his warmth stark against my ice-cold skin. But I couldn't focus, my thoughts a whirlwind of memories I had buried deep.
Dev.
The name alone made my blood run cold. I had spent years convincing myself that he was gone—that he would never return. But I had underestimated him. I should have known better.
"I have to go to him," I whispered, the words tasting like poison on my tongue.
"No." Krishna's voice was sharp, unwavering. "You're not going anywhere, Rose."
Tears blurred my vision as I looked into his stormy eyes. He doesn't understand.
"He'll hurt Aavi, Krishna," I choked out, my hands fisting his shirt. "I can't let that happen. He already took my sister. He won't stop until he takes everything from me."
Krishna's entire body tensed. "Then I'll end him before he gets the chance."
His words sent a shiver through me—not of fear, but of the raw, unfiltered rage burning in his gaze.
"I won't leave him, Birdie, just wait a little longer."
Dev's voice played in my head like a cursed lullaby. I had heard that tone before, the night he killed Di.
The night he tore my world apart.
Flashback: Five Years Ago
"Run, Radhu!" Di's voice was desperate, her grip on my wrist tight as she shoved me toward the open door. "Go! He'll kill you!"
"But di—"
Before I could protest, a deafening gunshot rang through the air. My body went rigid as warmth splattered across my face.
Di's eyes widened in shock, her lips parting in a silent gasp. Then, she crumpled to the ground, blood pooling beneath her.
"No—Di!" A scream tore from my throat as I collapsed beside her, shaking her lifeless body.
A low chuckle sent icy fear down my spine.
"You shouldn't have done that, Rithu," Dev murmured, crouching beside me, his gun still smoking. His fingers brushed against my cheek, smearing blood across my skin. "Now look what you've made me do."
My stomach lurched, bile rising in my throat.
He killed her. He killed my sister.
My hands trembled, reaching for her, but her warmth was already fading.
"You can't run from me, Birdie," Dev whispered, his fingers wrapping around my wrist. "You're mine. You always have been."
I wrenched my hand away, my entire body screaming for me to move. And I did. I ran.
That night, I vowed never to let him find me again.
But he found me. And now he has my son.
Present
I gasped as reality crashed back in. My fingers clutched at Krishna's arms, my breaths ragged. His grip on me was firm, his eyes searching mine with an intensity that made my chest ache.
"He killed her," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "I watched him do it. He wanted me, Krishna. He only used Rithu di to get to me." My throat tightened. "And now, he's using Aavi."
Krishna's jaw clenched, his hands curling into fists. The air around us crackled with his fury.
"Then he just signed his own death sentence," Krishna growled.
For the first time, I didn't doubt it.
Dev had made one fatal mistake.
He touched what belonged to Krishna Gupta Vardhan.
And my husband?
He never forgives.
