Kamala didn't want Willow to leave, so she stayed the night. It was the morning after Kamala's little tease, and Willow was feeling more refreshed than she had ever felt. She opened her eyes and stared up at the ceiling in complete disbelief that she was sleeping in her professor's bed. She looked over and saw Kamala's side was empty, and for just a moment, her heart sank thinking it might have all been a dream.
There was a patio located directly in front of the bed, and the natural lighting it provided felt warm, like a hug.
Willow scanned the room, looking to see if Kamala was nearby. A delicious scent hit her nose, as she searched.
" Hi!" Kamala appeared from the hallway, with a smile as bright as the stars. Her voice was soft and comforting. She looked as if her day had started hours before Willow had woken up. She made her way over to Willow and kissed her on the lips. "You sleep for a long time. I can see you're not an early bird." She found a spot on the edge of the bed and she sat down.
The fact that she kissed Willow while she had morning breath made Willow feel like they were locked in. " Yea, I'm more of an afternoon girl. I don't play about my sleep." She chuckled.
"How'd you sleep? Were you comfortable?" Kamala's eyes were full of care.
"I slept really good! It was nice being able to cuddle with you. I was warm the entire night. Oh, and thanks for the shirt to sleep in." Willow slid the shirt over her face and inhaled deeply "Ugh, I never wanna take it off. It smells just like you." She continued to inhale all of the shirt's aroma.
"And what is it I smell like?" Kamala tilted her head to the side. She was slightly tickled by the confession.
"It's like- It reminds me of something I used to smell all the time as a child. It's a nostalgic scent, that's probably why I'm so attached to it."
"Can you be a little more specific than that, because I really would like to know?" Kamala's shoulders went up, as she giggled.
" You often smell like Marc Jacobs perfume, or like something I've smelled by him. It's a floral scent. Not too sweet, and something- wait." She held her hands up while a new revelation came to the surface. " It reminds me of my favorite candle I have at home. It's a tobacco bark scented candle, and when I say I love that candle I mean it!"
Willow was very animated and expressive whenever she talked about anything. Being from the midwest added to her charm. Her voice was honeyed and croaky. A lot of the time her eyes did most of the talking.
"Ahh, I've never had that candle before, but I'll definitely be trying it now." Kamala squinted her eyes like she was reading Willow. " I like when you're talkative. Last night you were acting all shy, which is very different from the girl I see in class and with her friends."
"That's because I was super nervous last night. I couldn't help it."
" Well, I'm glad you loosened up." She rested her elbows on her knees. She started fidgeting with her fingers. It was clear new thoughts were forming. "I was thinking about last night. I hope I didn't do too much or move too quickly. I think we should slow down a bit. Besides, I would like to get to know you on a deeper level."
Willow was puzzled by the shift in conversation. She crawled to the edge of the bed and faced Kamala. "I don't think too much was done last night. You said it was only a tease." Willow chuckled. Taking the conversation very lightly.
"I'm being serious." Kamala held Willow's hand. " I think we should take it easy. For your sake and mine."
Willow paused for a moment. She looked down at the floor, searching for a response. " I see where you're coming from. This was our first time being alone together and things got carried away. Maybe it was my fault."
Willow always wanted to find where a problem started so that she could figure out a solution.
"No. No. Don't blame yourself. I was the one who invited you over here. I must admit, it was my main goal to get you to confess what you and your friends had been saying about me. It really was the entire reason I had the dinner. I've wanted this to happen ever since I gave you my number and told you to use it if you ever had questions about classwork. I just wanted your number." Kamala was bouncing her legs in an attempt to keep her nerves at bay. " I don't even know why I'm so nervous right now."
" Don't be nervous. I'm not mad at you or anything. I completely understand. I think it's a great idea for us to ease into things. Considering you're older, I'd safely assume you wouldn't want to just jump into something, especially if it jeopardizes your job."
"Considering I'm older? What are you trying to say?" Kamala leaned back in disbelief, playfully.
"No. No. It wasn't- I didn't mean it like that." Willow rushed to clear up the mess she made
"Nooooo... I know exactly what you were saying." Kamala held up her hand blocking Willow from coming any closer.
Willow crawled over towards Kamala, wrapping her arms around her, and restricting Kamala from escaping. " I didn't mean it like that. I swear"
" I know. I know."
The two came down from lightly teasing one another, and collected themselves.
"Kamala, I have an idea!" Willow jumped up and stood in front of Kamala. She held her index finger up. " I think we should have a countdown for how long we should take it slow. Maybe four weeks. When the four weeks are up we should celebrate that we made it without giving in to temptations and learning more about each other."
Even though Kamala was shocked, she liked the idea. " I like it. So what's the rules?" She allowed Willow to take the lead in coming up with rules.
Willow thought for a second. " There's no kissing or doing anything that can lead to us giving in to lust."
" And whoever gives in first?"
"Whoever gives in first will- we will both be punished with not being able to speak to each other again."
Kamala scratched her head. " I don't know how that's gonna work out, but let's do it anyway. I already know who's going to be the first to give in."
"Who?" Willow frowned up, with her hands on her hips, waiting for Kamala's answer.
"You! You won't be able to resist me." Kamala was confident in her assumptions.
Willow wasn't very thrilled by Kamala's response. " Well, we will see." She scoffed.
"Awe, don't be mad. Just try to make sure I'm wrong." Kamala got up and headed towards the calendar that hung by her room door. " Four weeks? Four weeks from today will be January 26th. Let's see how this goes." She opened up a blue marker and put a circle around January 26.
"January 26th." Willow repeated underneath her breath. She was upset because Kamala was partially right. Willow probably would be the one to give up and give in.
Kamala had some tricks up her sleeve because she loved watching Willow fight off the urges.
"Let the games begin." Kamala had a mischievous smirk on her face.
