I started working out... again. I needed to move my body more so I could control some of the smoke that clouded my mind. I tried to get at least thirty to forty-five minutes of exercise everyday; Including days I had class. I hadn't heard from Kamala since the night at her place, which was two days ago. I felt like this pause was necessary because Kamala's enigmatic behavior was slowly becoming a concern for me. There was something she wasn't telling me; Maybe it was because Cynthia was around. I wasn't one to stand by and allow things to be hidden from me for too long. I normally ended up sticking my nose in places where it didn't belong, but at least I had the answers I needed.

I headed back to my place to meet Laila and Jasmine so we could go to class together.

Class (the end of it)

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I just want to remind you that when you enter my class -or any of your classes- that your attire should be appropriate and professional. I will not allow you to enter this room if you're wearing something like you are lounging around your home. I shouldn't even have to make these types of announcements to this particular group, but some of you may have forgotten.  You must dress business professional at all times; There are no exceptions. I'm holding you to the highest standard. Do I make myself clear?" I watched her eyes circle around the room, as no one was quick to respond. I knew she didn't like it when she didn't get a verbal response out of you.   "Do. I. Make. Myself. Clear?"

"Yes, Professor Harris." We all said in unison.

"Good." A smirk appeared on her face.

I kept seeing something , or someone, pulling Kamala's attention from the right side of the classroom. I was eager to find out what it could've been.

"Next time we meet for class I will be shifting gears into Introduction to Homicide. My goal is to provide an introduction into basic law concepts, and help familiarize you with applying the legal concepts to hypothetical situations. Alright, that's all I have for you today. Class dismissed."

Students quickly started gathering their belongings and exiting the class. I waited until Laila and Jasmine were a few steps ahead of me so I could have a moment with Kamala.

"I see why you do what you do." I walked up to her full of gratitude

"And why is that?"

"You're just so amazing at it. You must've been sent to earth to do exactly what you're doing."

Her eyes were full of admiration as she glanced at me.

"Kamala D. Harris." A familiar voice called from the right side of the classroom. It was Cynthia.

"I'll catch up with you later." I rushed out of her way before the irritation got the best of me.

Kamala's POV

I watched Willow walk away; I could feel her attitude in the air. It made me realize she was jealous of Cynthia, and I kind of liked that. I wouldn't have thought she'd be the jealous type, nonetheless it made me more attracted to her.

"I love when you're in Professor mood. You're so badass." Cynthia sat on the edge of the desk, scooting closer to me. She reminded me of a ladybug because of her fiery hair and her lipstick shade.

"Oh, Cyn! I appreciate it. Really, I do." I bit my lips, trying to hide my smile.

"Really! I love how you command the room and put them in their place when need be. It's so attractive."

" Oh, you like that?"

The words glided out of my lips so seductively; Something fell over me. Cynthia eyebrows rose up, her eyes widening, and a look of enjoyment eased on her face. I needed to change the direction of the conversation before things went too far left.
