Vinnie and Lottie walked into the pub where Stephen McCann was waiting.

"I'll stay here with the others." Lottie said to Vinnie as she sat on a barstool, still within earshot of what they would say. Vinnie nodded in response and gave her a gentle kiss before walking over to where Stephen was sat.

"So, how've... How've you got Gary's car? Were you the one that nicked it?" Stephen asked Vinnie with a meek voice.

"Yeah." Vinnie said.

"Right. Thanks." Stephen said with a small chuckle.

"I didn't know it was Gary's. And I didn't know it had a load of antiques in the bloody boot, either." Vinnie said to Stephen.

"Right." Stephen said not knowing what to say.

"Antiques that belong to your father. Antiques he wants back." Vinnie said to him.

"Tough titty." Stephen said not thinking it was his problem to deal with.

"It's tough titty for you, Stephen... cos I'm gonna have to tell him you took 'em, mate." Vinnie told the man what he was planning to do.

"You won't do that." Stephen said a certainty.

"Will I not?" Vinnie said to him incredulously.

"No." Stephen confirmed.

"He's threatening to cut my dick off, man." Vinnie said to him as Stephen looked to Lottie who was sat at the bar.

"Well, you've got a problem, then, haven't you?Huh. See, the thing, uh... about my dad is... he's very big on... denial. I don't know how well you know him, but he's very much a man of appearances and, uh, reputation. So, having a son like me... it's a disappointment. Yeah, he resents me not being a version of himself. He wanted a... successor, someone ruthless to help with the family business. I was never that kid. I tried, but I've always enjoyed... theatre. I like dance and literature. And, um... cock." Stephen said not really surprising anyone, "So, if you go to him, and you tell him it was me, and that you found me through... my lover's car..." Stephen said but looked up when Vinnie began talking.

"Are you and... You and Gary?" Vinnie questioned him confused, only to receive a nod as a reply.

"I'll tell you what he'll do. He'll shoot the messenger. Or in your case, um... cut the messenger's dick off." Stephen finished saying his peace.

"It's funny, I'm bipolar, you know? Christ, I can get really depressed. And there are times where I'd just think... would it be better if I just ended it, you know? Fucking made it all go away. And yet, faced with this, I'm really scared, man. I'm really scared for my Lottie. I feel like a little lad who needs his mum." Vinnie said tearfully, thinking about the mess he's in. "What am I gonna do? Stephen, you're gonna have to help me, man." Vinnie said pleadingly to Stephen hoping he could help.

"Well... I suppose there's one thing we could try." Stephen as Lottie walked over to them after seeing Vinnie get upset.

"So what's the plan?" Lottie asked as she stood next to Vinnie a placed her hand comfortingly on his shoulder which he then held there.

"I've got to die." He said as he looked up to her.

"What?" She said back in disbelief.

Lottie went to the shack to collect some of Vinnie's nicer clothes for him to be "buried" in. Once she picked the clothes she wanted she sat down on the bed and began to cry softly. The possibility that all this could have actually happened hitting her all of a sudden. She soon got up, washed her face and began her journey back to the funeral parlour.
