Chapter 26: The plan to crawford

*RON POV*

Kenny stands in front of the group, his voice firm, trying to keep everyone focused.

Kenny: "We still need a battery and fuel for the boat. It's the only way we're gettin' outta here." i  glance at Kenny, then at the others, but his face shows determination.

Ron: "Kenny's right. We don't have a lot of options here. That boat's our best shot so were gonna need all of us to do this."

Carley:'' I agree with Ron and Kenny, this is the only chance were gonna get in this crappy place we might as well use it''.

Christa crosses her arms, skeptical.

Christa: "So what, we're just going to stroll into Crawford and take what we need? That place is a fortress. Armed guards, and who knows what else. They don't let people like us in."

Vernon steps forward, voice calm but serious.

Vernon: "I know what Crawford is. But it's the only place that has what we need. We need their fuel and a battery for the boat. There's no other option."

 Omid, sitting against the wall, winces slightly from his leg injury but joins in.

 Omid: "You want to sneak into a place like that with guns and guards? Great idea. What could go wrong?"

He glances at  me with a smirk, but the tension is clear in his voice.

Ron: "It's not like we have a choice. Look, if we stay here and do nothing, we'll die. We go to Crawford, at least we have a shot. I'm with Kenny on this."

Ben, standing awkwardly to the side, shifts uncomfortably.

Ben: "But... but Crawford's crazy. They don't even let sick people in, right? They'll kill us on sight. You saw what they did to those who tried to leave.''

Kenny cuts in, his frustration rising.

Kenny: "Ben, I get it. You're scared, alright? But if we don't get those supplies, we might as well give up now. I'm not sittin' around waiting to starve."

Christa, still frowning, steps forward, her voice sharper now.

Christa: "And how do we even get in? You know they're not going to just open the doors for us.

"Vernon looks at Christa, then at me.

Vernon: "There's a way in. Through the sewers. It's risky, but I know the layout. We can sneak in, grab what we need, and get out before they even know we're there."

Omid gives a sarcastic chuckle, shaking his head.

Omid: "Oh yeah, a sewer break-in. Perfect plan. Why didn't I think of that?"

Ron: "It's not perfect, but it's better than waiting here to die. We're out of options, Omid."

Omid sighs and leans back, clearly not thrilled but not arguing further.

Ben looks around nervously, his voice shaky.

Ben: "I don't know, man. I... I just... I don't want to get everyone killed."

Kenny glares at Ben, his voice rising in frustration.

Kenny: "Look, kid, you want to help or not? If you got a better idea, now's the time."

I step  in, trying to keep the group calm but resolute.

Ron: "We need to stick together on this. Crawford's dangerous, yeah, but it's the only shot we've got. We get in, we get what we need, and we get out."

Christa lets out a deep breath, still not convinced but seeing the logic.

Christa: "Alright. Fine. But if we're doing this, we need to be smart about it. One wrong move, and it's over for all of us."

Kenny nods, looking around at everyone.

Kenny: "We're all in then? Good. We get ready, and we move out at dawn."

Carley: ''Lets hope they have all we need''

I walk out the room, and saw clementine sitting by her self on the stair case 

Ron: ''I told you to stay in your room  How long have you been here''?

Clementine: ''Is it going to be dangerous''?

Ron: ''Is what going to be dangerous''?

Clementine: ''Crawford''.

Ron: Honestly, ''I cant lie to you sweetheart I just don't really know, But this is the way we can make Omid's leg feel better and to get the parts for the boat, do you understand''?

Clementine: ''......I don't want anyone else to die''.

Ron: ''Me either honey but this is the only way''.

Clementine: Oh, well I guess I should go and get ready.''

Ron: Wait hon-

Clementine:'' You said you needed all of us to do this''.

Ron: ''Yeah but-''

Clementine:'' Crawford is the only place left in savannah that still has people, that means it must be where my mum and dad  are, right''?

Ron:  ''I don't think that they'll be in Crawford honey. your parents are nice people, Crawford is full of bad people''.

Clementine:'' How would you know my parents are good people''?

Ron: ''They raised you didn't they''?

Clementine ''gives me a   heart warming smile''.

Clementine: ''but, cant I come with you''?

Ron: ''Ok you can come, but you have to promise to stay quiet, and do exactly what you are told the whole time we are there''.

Clementine:'' Okay, I 'm  gonna go get ready''.

Clementine runs back upstairs.
