And boys.
I like girls.
And.
Boys.Boys.
Taehyung turns his head abruptly with wide eyes. Jungkook smiles at him lazily, blinking slowly. "What?" The older sounds like all the air got knocked out of his lungs. Well, it did. He is speechless. Did he just say what he heard him say. Is he hallucinating. Is Jungkook joking. "What did you just say?" The red light appears just in time, making Taehyung hit the break and fully fixate his eyes on the young man.
"I. Like. Girls." Jungkook lifts one finger in a counting-manner "And. Boys." He raises a second finger, then leans his head against the window, looking outside. He misses how Taehyung gulps. How he shifts his gaze back onto the street. How he grips the steering wheel. How he takes a deep breath and exhales with a breathy chuckle. How the blood is rushing to his cheeks and ears, tinting them a dark shade of red.
Taehyung feels...happy. He doesn't know how. How could he possibly feel happy after today. But he feels happy. So fucking happy. He chuckles once again and darts the other a 'you don't know what you're doing to me'-look before speeding again.
You don't know what you're doing to me, Jungkook. Good god, you have no idea.
-
They arrive at Jungkook's place and the younger is close to drifting into sleep. "We're there" Taehyung gently nudges the other, stopping him from closing his eyes. Jungkook simply hums tiredly.
-
Having helped Jungkook all the way upstairs, Taehyung knocks on his front door praying that the younger's parents are still awake. To his luck, they are. Jungkook's mother opens the door and her face immediately lights up once she sees Taehyung. "Oh honey, welcome back" she pats his arm softly. Taehyung smiles warmly. "Jungkook drank a bit too much, I am really sorry for not taking better care of him." He apologizes with pitiful eyes, Jungkook's arm draped over his shoulder to support his weight.
The black haired man is barely standing, he is half asleep. Jungkook's mom examines her son and simply giggles lowly "son, you brought him home safely. I have to thank you, sweetheart" she shows a genuine smile and pinches his cheek. "Jungkook will get a lecture tomorrow, don't you worry about that" Taehyung cackles at her statement.
"Can you help him get into bed? I don't think I can carry him at my age" Jungkook's mom mimics the hunched back of an old granny.
"Oh right, of course!" Taehyung snickers "besides, aren't you in your thirties?" He fakes a clueless tone making her laugh wholeheartedly. "You're funny! I understand why Jungkook likes you"
Walking past her, Taehyung hides his flushed face by lowering his head.Jungkook likes me?
-
He leads Jungkook to his room, helping him lay down comfortably and take off his shoes for him. The drunk male shifts contentedly and huffs out even breaths.
Taehyung analyzes the latter's features carefully. He looks peaceful. Calm. Innocent.Innocent.
It hits the brown haired male again. What had happened in that bathroom. He feels guilt crushing, punching, wrenching his guts. He doesn't want to end things with Jungkook. He really does not. And he maybe won't need to. Taehyung doubts that Jungkook will have any recollection of today's night. Which ultimately leaves the decision to the older of whether or not things will stay the same as before.
