☤ chapter 02 ☤

hi! next chapter :) i encourage you guys to re-read the first chapter because i did a little bit of editing there :)

Alyx woke up dazed, she could barely remember what had happened the night before, everything was a complete blur.

"Alright guys, I have at least two heat signatures. Make sure to cover exits and beware of additional weapons."

Alyx spun back and forth between the screens, looking at the surveillance. Hondo had managed to talk to someone and he gave him a location, the team was currently executing a search. Alyx looked up when someone had entered the room, she nodded to Hicks and Cortez.

"Runner!" Alyx watched the heat signature sprint towards the back of the house.

"Luca, there is a wooden door about 10 feet to your left, get ready for one of them to come flying through." A few seconds later and Luca close lines the suspect, Alyx grimacing at the suspect's painful yelp.

Alyx waited on the comms while the team swept the building.

"Alyx, I am sending you a picture. Can you identify where this rooftop might be." Alyx waited patiently for Hondo to send the picture through. With a few clicks the woman was able to identify the rooftop.

"That's downtown by 4th and Fig."

Alyx was with Cortez in the interrogation room, she was staring at the man while the captain was on the phone with Hondo. Something doesn't add up. Alyx grabs Cortez's phone out of her hand.

"Hondo, this isn't racial its political."

"Alright, I can see one individual on the rooftop. He already has a sniper propped up on the area." Alyx watched as the team successfully apprehended him. "Hondo, something is still not right. What is the target? The streets are completely empty."

Alyx's ears started ringing, she could hear SWAT sirens through the communications. What is 50-David doing downtown?

"Cortez?" She turns her phone on speakerphone.

"There's a silent alarm at First Finance Bank." Think. Think. Think.

"Cortez, wasn't there a robbery during the rally? All of our cops were there."

"That's right." Hondo finished Alyx's thought for her.

"Adding to Alyx, all of our cops are watching schools right now." Alyx cuts off Hondo.

"It's an ambush. I'm dispatching units to you guys as quickly as I can." In a sudden two rocket launchers were shot at the incoming SWAT vehicles. Alyx swiveled her chair towards the computer, her fingers working fast to pull up the street cameras. "There are two men on the street corner." Alyx tapped in on 50-Davids comms. "Boys, it's Alyx, you have at least 20 seconds until a group of 3 armed men are on top of you." Alyx tried to keep her composure but failed, her shaky voice clear. 

Alyx watched the scene unfold from the cameras. She let out a sigh when the team managed to get rid of two armed men, another bolting. The tech woman switched to Hondo's communication device. It wasn't often that the team had their own channels but this helped Alyx a lot during intense moments like this.
