☤ chapter 00 ☤

*omg new story! hi friends, just to start the story starts where Alyx is (31) and Luca is (36). this is just a prologue*

Walking into the SWAT headquarters was a surreal moment for Alyx Austen, accompanying her was a family friend. Buck Spivey looked at the nervous woman.

"Hey don't sweat, they'll like you." Alyx nodded at his comment, yet still nervous. She fiddled with the rings adorning her slim fingers, her crossbody bag hugged loosely to her side. They made their way past a boxing ring and into the situation room where she was met with five faces.

"Oh my gosh, another woman?" Buck motioned towards the woman with short hair.

"Alyx this is Chris, Chris this is Alyx. Unfortunately she won't be working specifically on the team but she's a forensic genius." The brown haired woman shook the other woman's hand with a warm smile. She turned to look at the taller man with silver hair, and big arms.

"Hey, I'm Deacon." She nods at the man, and then gets introduced to Hondo. He greeted her with such kindness that it was difficult to hide a big grin, which another man in the room commented on.

"I love your smile." She looks at the tall asian man, his hair dark black. She thanks him before turning to look at the last individual.

"I agree, your smile is bright." She smiles warmly at the tall man, his hands slightly covered by his sweatshirt sleeves. His hair was messy and his smile was cheesy, his presence alone made her feel welcomed.

"Did you know lynx means bright in Latin?" The group looked at her and the man grinned widely at her.

"I'm Luca."

"Hi Luca." The group watched as the two continued to stare at each other with wild smiles on their faces. He is the first person she looks at, maintaining eye contact. 

"Holy, you're eyes. They're different colors." The group then meets at Luca's position to analyze the woman's eyes, one brown and one green. 

"Yeah, I have heterochromia." Luca nods, while Deacon keeps looking at Alyx, and then makes a face like he is thinking of something. 

"Hmmm, I guess I'll call you Lynx." The woman looks down, her cheeks tinted rose. Chris looks a little more closely at the new woman.

"You can't be any older than 25, we just looked at your file. You already have a PhD in civil engineering? And you were a part of the bomb squad?"

Alyx nods at Chris and Tan who were huddled around an iPad. Alyx would usually be bothered by the constant analyzing of her character and being but she could tell this group was just curious. Somehow making her feel comfortable. 

"I am 28, and I'm actually here to get acclimated for a new position opening as a tech specialist. I can do many more things to help your team out but I go back to school to work on my second PhD."

The group looked at her stunned, so young and she had already done so much. Luca looked at Alyx and knew it would be the start of something so special. The rest of the group could also tell.

Alyx said her goodbyes and headed for the exit with Buck, she still had her head tilted downward; unable to shake the smile written on her face from the interaction with Luca.

Lynx, that had a ring to it.
