The next morning, Kylie woke up to sunlight streaming through her window, the events of the previous night still fresh in her mind. She rolled over, grabbing her phone to see a message from Malia.

Malia: Morning! Can't stop smiling after last night. When can I see you again?

Kylie's heart fluttered. She couldn't believe how much had changed between them in just one night. She quickly typed back.

Kylie: Morning! I know, right? How about lunch today? There's this cute café I've been wanting to try.

Malia: Sounds perfect. Can't wait!

Kylie smiled to herself as she got out of bed, feeling a giddy excitement she hadn't felt in a long time. She spent the morning trying on different outfits, finally settling on a light sundress that felt perfect for the warm, sunny day. As she headed out the door, she couldn't help but think about how different everything felt now that she and Malia had finally admitted their feelings.

The café was small and cozy, with potted plants hanging from the ceiling and a menu written on a chalkboard wall. Kylie found a table near the window and sat down, nervously tapping her fingers on the table as she waited for Malia to arrive.

When the door swung open, and Malia walked in, Kylie felt her breath catch. Malia was dressed in a simple, flowy top and jeans, her hair loose around her shoulders. She spotted Kylie and waved, her face lighting up with a smile that made Kylie's heart skip a beat.

"Hey," Malia said, sliding into the seat across from her. "You look amazing."

Kylie blushed, feeling her nerves melt away under Malia's gaze. "Thanks. You look beautiful too."

They ordered their drinks and settled into easy conversation, talking about everything and nothing. It was just like it had always been between them—comfortable and familiar—but now there was an undercurrent of something more. Every time their eyes met, Kylie felt a spark of excitement, a reminder of the kiss they'd shared under the stars.

After a while, the conversation turned to their friends and how they would navigate this new stage in their relationship. "Do you think we should tell them?" Kylie asked, sipping her iced coffee.

Malia tilted her head thoughtfully. "I think we should. They're our friends, and they'll want to know. Plus, I don't want to hide this from them. I'm really happy, and I want to share that with the people who care about us."

Kylie nodded, feeling a warm glow at Malia's words. "You're right. We'll tell them tonight."

That evening, they gathered at Ruby's house, where the group often met up for movie nights and hangouts. As everyone settled into the living room, Malia and Kylie exchanged a glance, and Kylie felt a surge of nervous excitement.

"Hey, guys," Malia began, drawing everyone's attention. "We have something we want to share."

The room fell silent as their friends looked on curiously. Kylie took a deep breath, reaching for Malia's hand. "Malia and I... we're together now," she said, her voice steady. "Last night, we realized we have feelings for each other that go beyond friendship."

For a moment, there was silence, and Kylie's heart raced as she waited for their reaction. Then, Ruby broke into a wide grin. "Oh my God, finally! I've been waiting for this to happen!"

Dara laughed, nudging Ruby. "You owe me twenty bucks. I told you they'd get together by the end of the year."

Joshua clapped his hands together, his face lit up with genuine happiness. "I'm so happy for you two! This is amazing."

Morgan and Peder joined in, offering their congratulations and teasing them about how obvious it had been that they liked each other. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, and Kylie felt a weight lift off her shoulders. Their friends were more supportive than she could have hoped for.

As the evening wore on, the group settled into their usual banter, the new dynamic between Kylie and Malia already blending seamlessly into their close-knit circle. Kylie looked over at Malia, who was laughing at something Joshua said, and felt a surge of gratitude and happiness. Everything felt right.

Later that night, after everyone had left, Kylie and Malia found themselves alone on Ruby's porch, the cool night air wrapping around them like a blanket. "I'm so glad we did that," Kylie said softly, leaning against Malia's shoulder.

"Me too," Malia murmured, wrapping an arm around Kylie's waist. "I'm so happy right now, Kyles."

Kylie turned to look at her, their faces inches apart. "Me too, Malia. I don't know where this will go, but I know I want to be with you."

Malia smiled, her eyes shining in the moonlight. "Same here. Let's take this one day at a time, together."

And as their lips met in a tender kiss, the world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them, wrapped in the warmth of each other's arms and the promise of what was to come.
