A week had went by. I've told Jordan everything that happened at the family gathering and she was happy that I finally met the love of my life but wasn't supporting the fact that I was dating my own family member. I had never imagined myself in a relationship with any of my aunts either, but it happened.

My mom had already informed my grandpa that we'll be paying them a visit today. I knew we weren't just visiting, she was going to let my grandparents know about my sexuality, or force me to do it myself.

I woke up at 08:20, went to brush my teeth, did my bed then went downstairs for breakfast. "Morning baby." My mom greeted. "Hey mommy, are we still going to grandpa's today?" I asked. "Not if you're planning to change something about your sexuality." She responded.
"Ok I'm quickly going to eat my breakfast then take a shower, you better get ready 'cos we're definitely going to grandpa's today!" I said before walking away from her.

Milendra and I have been chatting and calling each other a lot. While I was eating my breakfast I sent her a text.

Nel: Morning babe, I hope you had a good sleep. I just wanted you to know I'll be going to grandpa Joe today.
Milendra: Morning beautiful. I just woke up, I was planning to visit a friend today but since you'll be near my crib I'd rather drive there. See you soon my love :*

I took a shower after eating my breakfast. When I was done my mom wasn't done yet, but she was almost done. I went to wait for her in the car to show her I was dead serious about going to grandpa's. Well this time it was for the best too. I couldn't wait.

We were silent all the way to grandpa's house. It was about an hour and a half drive away from home. I was busy on my phone, chatting with Jordan and explaining myself to Liz on why I have distanced myself from her. There was no need for me to lie to her, she knew everything already.
My mom was listening to Celine Dion, her songs depressed me but I loved them anyways.

I used to visit my grandparents almost every holidays so I had my own bedroom. When we arrived I greeted them then went to my room. I've missed it a lot.

My granny had a fluffy white house dog, her name was Dweb, I called her Dwebie. "Dweb!" I called out and it came runnig in and out. "Dweb!" I called out and it came running in and out again. "Dweb!" I called out and it came running in and out again. "Dwebie!" I called out and it came running in and jumped on me. Ahh I missed her though.

My granny had prepared lunch for us. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands then to the dining room to have lunch with the family.

While we were eating my mom started. "Daddy we have something to tell you." She said then looked at me.
Someone knocked. "It must be Milendra" my granny said, "she told me she'll be coming over today."
"I'll get it!" I said while heading to the door.

"Hi baby!" I hugged her tight not noticing she wasn't alone. "Hey Nel." She said lamely. That was awkward. "Oh Hi Handsome Uncle P, afternoon aunty and..." "Afternoon young lady, I'm Calvin." The man said. "Afternoon Calvin." I greeted. "We're in the dining." I said while leading their way.

"Afternoon, I thought Milendra was coming alone. Thank God I've prepared enough food." My granny said and headed to the kitchen. There weren't enough seats for everyone so I took my food and went to finish it off in the TV room. "Dwebie! come with me." I said and she followed.

I could hear everything from where I was. They were having random talks so I put my 'ability to avoid any sounds' on mode until I heard someone shout out "No I will not!".

I put the TV's sound on mute to be able to hear everything that was said. "I am not marrying you Calvin!" Milendra said. I put Dwebie down and whispered to him "run to granny." she obeyed and I followed as if I was trying to catch her.

When we were in the dining room they were all focusing on Milendra and Calvin to even notice us. Calvin was kneeling down on one knee and held an engagement ring while looking at Milendra hopelessly.

'Who has the guts to propose their girlfriend in front of her parents?' I thought to myself. Another thought came to mind...'no one would propose a girl the day after they've met, which means this people have been dating!' My heart ripped. I felt like crying, I wanted to destroy either Milendra or Calvin at that time. I went straight to my room and cried like never before.

Milendra came into my room while I was crying. When I saw her I quickly wiped out my tears. "Get out of my room!" I said softly. "Nel please listen to me." Milendra pleaded. I ignored her presence.

Milendra started "ok I don't care if you want to hear this or not but I'm going to tell you everything as it is. I had planned to come here alone today, I did tell my parents about it so they insisted on coming with me, without letting me know that Calvin will be coming with too. Apparently he asked my dad not to saying anything since he was planning on 'surprising'me. I figured this was the surprise...the engagement.

Nel Calvin and I have been dating for nine months now and I don't love him! I know I sound all silly but believe me Nel you are the one I love.

I have been lesbian from the day I was born...I was never straight but I've shelled myself ever since.

I found it hard to accept myself as a lesbian, I tried to love boys, Calvin, but it never worked. I've forced myself to love him. I couldn't!

He made things even worse! Calvin is abusive, he beats me up for no reason, he has cheated on me more than once, more than once! I hate him I cannot marry him (she started crying).

But even if he was the sweetest, most amazing man alive I don't think I would have loved him. This was all a lie. I've been living a lie Nel and with you I've found myself.

Please forgive me baby. I should've told you everything earlier but I wasn't ready yet. I love you Nel." She moved closer to me and I gave her a hug. I kissed her neck "baby please promise me to never hurt me. I love you and I can't imagine life without you." I said. "I promise baby. I promise." She tightened on me.

"Wow. Jesus where are you?" I heard my grandpa's voice. When I glanced at the door my grandpa, mommy, granny and Calvin were standing there.

I cleared my throat. "Come here baby." My granny said to Milendra. She gave her a hug and told her that everything will be alright. My granny was the most weirdest person alive. She was very empathetic, I loved her for that but that appeared very weird for a person her age, she never took life seriously. She gave me a warm smile and told me to come to her using a hand gesture. She hugged me and whispered in my one ear "I've always known you're lesbian."

My mom and her father walked away and Calvin was still standing by the door as if he was about to kill someone.
