As the grand doors of the mansion swung open, Isabella and Massimo stepped inside, their presence immediately commanding attention. The servants followed closely behind, burdened with an array of bags from their recent trip to Spain.
"We are home," Isabella announced with a radiant smile, the joy of their journey still evident in her voice.
"Welcome back, Mom and Dad," Alexzander greeted them warmly, stepping out of the living room, followed by the rest of the family.
"So, how was Spain?" Austin asked, wrapping his mother in a tight hug.
"It was the best," Isabella gushed, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "This was the first trip we've taken without worrying about the Mafia since we got married."
"And it's all thanks to my son for finally taking over," Massimo added proudly, giving Alexzander a firm pat on the back.
"Yeah, he's so involved with the Mafia now that he has no time for his siblings," Angelo chimed in, a teasing grin on his face, quickly backed up by Xavier, who nodded in agreement.
Alexzander sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I've been busy with some personal stuff, but I promise I'll make time for you guys in the future." He patted Angelo's head, a rare gesture of affection from the otherwise stoic leader.
"You better," Xavier mock scolded, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow in playful seriousness. The light-hearted banter earned a round of chuckles from everyone.
"Also," Massimo began, "we're heading to Germany tomorrow. Since we're no longer tied to the Mafia, we've decided to enjoy retirement to the fullest."
"But you just got home!" Callum complained, his tone half-joking, half-serious.
"Let them enjoy themselves before they get too old," Xander quipped, only to be met with a flying flip-flop expertly thrown by Isabella.
The rest of the day was spent in laughter and togetherness, the whole family savouring the homemade dinner Isabella prepared with love. It was one of those rare moments where the dangers of their world felt distant, replaced by the simple joys of family life.
As dessert was served, Massimo leaned back in his chair, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Okay, do any of my broken condoms want to confess something before we leave again?" he asked, his tone laced with humor.
Isabella shot him a sharp glare. "Call our children with respect, will you?"
Massimo merely shrugged, unrepentant. But before anyone could respond, Eva, who had been quiet most of the evening, spoke up.
"Well, I think I'll be in a relationship soon," she said, her voice steady despite the sudden tension that filled the room.
The entire table fell silent, then erupted in unison. "WHAT!" The collective shout was so loud that Eva instinctively covered her ears.
"Oh my God! We need to cancel our flight. Our little girl is going to start a relationship!" Isabella exclaimed, her excitement palpable.
"On it, babe," Massimo said, already typing furiously on his phone.
"Good for you," Alexzander said with a nod of approval, his usually stern expression softening for a moment.
"Oh my God! I can finally dress up my little sister for her first date!" Xavier shouted, practically bouncing in his seat.
"Really, Berry? I'm so happy for you," Angelo said, his voice filled with genuine happiness. He leaned over to hug her, his affection clear.
"I thought you were going to die alone," Xander quipped with a smirk, earning him a playful smack from Eva.
Greyson, who had been observing quietly, finally spoke. "Who is it?"
His calm, direct question brought a wave of relief to Eva. She shot him a grateful look, thankful that at least one family member was keeping a level head.
"Yeah, who is it?" the rest of the family echoed, leaning in with eager curiosity.
Eva took a deep breath, bracing herself. "His name is Neron. He's a street racer."
The room buzzed with interest, but it was Alexzander who spoke first, ruffling her hair affectionately.
"Aren't brothers supposed to be against their sisters dating?" She asked
"Well, if you were a normal sister, yes," he replied with a grin. "But right now, we're just happy that you finally found someone you're comfortable with."
Massimo, who had been watching the exchange with an amused smile, leaned forward. "Now, can you invite this young man to our house tomorrow? I feel like I should have a good talk with my 'possibly future son-in-law.'"
"What's the possibility that we'll have to kill this guy?" Callum asked casually, pulling out his gun and inspecting it with a nonchalant air.
Eva rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress a smile. "He knows I'm in the Mafia, but he doesn't know I'm the head of The Lotus. And he's a street racer, so he's pretty good at handling guns and fights."
A thought crossed her mind, one she kept to herself. 'I'll leave it to Neron to tell my family about the open relationship thing with Felicity. He's better with words than I am.'
"So, what's his name?" Greyson asked again, his tone calm and curious.
Eva met her brother's gaze, a small smile tugging at her lips. "His name is Neron," she repeated.
Thenight ended with a buzz of excitement and anticipation. The family had a newtopic to discuss, a new chapter to look forward to. As Massimo and Isabellaprepared for their next adventure, they did so with a renewed sense of purpose, knowing their children—especially Eva—were finding their own paths in life.
