"Hi, I'm Evangeline, and I'm here for my schedule," she said to the woman at the front desk, who looked like she desperately needed her morning coffee.
"Ahh... yes, the new student, Eva... Evangeline Green. Here you go," the woman said, finding the details on her computer. "Your schedule will be printed out over there. There's a map and catalog of the school next to the printer. Help yourself," she added, looking ready to fall asleep at any moment.
As the schedule printed, Evangeline glanced at it. Evangeline Green—that would be her name throughout school. Not because of any threats, but just for fun.
"Mathematics first on Monday? What happened to peace of mind?" she muttered before heading to class.
The classroom was empty since she was early, so she quietly sat at the back and started to scroll through her phone.
'You okay in your new school?' ~Angelo
'Yup, just reached class' ~Eva
'Enjoy, try not to scare anyone off' ~Angelo
**Evangeline's POV**
Halfway through the day, I was already rethinking my decision to join school again.
"And where the hell is the canteen?" I groaned. Who designed these confusing corridors?
"Are you lost?" a familiar voice asked behind me. I turned to see her.
"Oh! I know you! You're the one I saved!" she smiled brightly, excited to see me.
"Hi, Felicity," I said with a small smile.
"You're the new student?" she asked, her excitement palpable. "Everyone's talking about you! We never accept students mid-year, and yet you got in. Oh, and..."
"Calm down, breathe, little flower," I said, chuckling at her rant as she blushed. "Yes, I am the new student."
"That's great! Now we can meet every day," she said, dragging me towards what I assumed was the canteen.
The rest of the day went by in a blur, with Felicity appearing at every break. We had a few classes together, which made it easier to navigate the day.
As the final bell rang, I packed my bag and waited for her at the gate. I had promised to drop her off at the coffee shop she worked at, on my bike, which she was eager to ride.
"I wanna go fast!" she said, hugging my waist tightly.
I chuckled. "As you wish, my lady."
After a quick ride, I parked in front of the café and helped her off the bike.
"Thanks for the ride! It was the best ever," she said, hugging me tightly.
"No problem, little flower," I replied.
"You know I like it when you call me that," she said, blushing.
"Well, that means I'll have to call you that more often, right, little flower?" I said, patting her hair.
"I... you... why don't you come in? I'll give you a blueberry cake; it's the best," she said, strutting past me.
I smiled slightly, following her inside.
"Is that a smile I see on the face of the ice queen?" a familiar, annoying voice said beside me, making my smile drop.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, turning to see four of my brothers.
"We were talking about you. Come on, tell us about your day," Xavier said, dragging me to a table. I sat between Gelo and Greyson, with Xander and Xavier in front of me.
"It was good," I said, sipping Gelo's smoothie.
"So why were you smiling, and why are you here, Berry?" Gelo asked.
**Felicity's POV**
"Emma, Emma! Guess what?" I shouted as soon as I entered the staff room of the café.
"What, baby?" she asked, still washing dishes.
"I met Eva today!" I said.
"Who?"
"The one I took a bullet for, remember? You were worried that day I came home in bandages."
"Ohh, the one you have a crush on," she smirked.
"Umm," I blushed. "She calls me cute nicknames and is so cool. I can't help it, but I don't know if she likes girls!" I whined.
"Trouble in paradise, I like it," she teased.
"Whatever. Do we still have some red velvet cookies left? I promised her some," I asked, putting on an apron.
"Yup, freshly baked, by the oven. Help yourself," she replied. I thanked her and started packing them in a cute teddy bear box.
As I went out, I didn't see Eva by the counter and sighed. She must have been busy and couldn't wait. I was about to go back when I saw her at a table by the window, surrounded by four boys. One had his arm around her shoulder, making me jealous.
They looked happy. I forced a small smile as I approached the table.
"Eva, here," I said, glaring at the one with his arm over her shoulder.
"And who is this cutie?" the boy across from her grinned.
"Xavier, not now," Eva said, taking the box from my hand and smiling softly.
"Oh my god, she's finally mad. Did anyone else see her making a weird face?" another boy said.
"Xander, brother, I think I know what's going on here," someone else said. He was about to continue when Eva took my hand and walked out of the store, dragging me with her.
"Who are they?" I asked angrily. What if one of them was her boyfriend?
"No, no... but..."
"Little flower, earth to little flower," Eva called, snapping me back to reality.
"What is it?" I asked, avoiding her gaze. I was angry.
"Are you angry?" she asked with a smirk.
"Why do you care?" I huffed.
"What is it, little flower?" she asked, lifting my face with her hand.
"You—" I started, but then I saw something shine in the darkness behind her. A gun.
I reacted instinctively, flipping her down as a shot rang out. The pain hit me immediately.
"What the... little flower, not this again," she said, pulling out a gun and shooting at someone.
"Eva, it hurts," I said as everything went black.
