GAS STATION

The Impala is parked in front of a pump with Sam sitting shotgun and Rose in the back, lying down with her feet on the window tapping along to the radio in the Impala, which is playing 'Carry on my Wayward son'.

Sam is rifling through a box of tapes.

"Wait, what are those? I swear I've seen them." Arthur questioned.

"Cassette tapes, they produce music when you put them in a cassette player. I've had so many of them." Sirius responded.

Dean comes out of the convenience mart carrying a bunch of junk food and energy drinks.

"Hey!" Sam leans out of the door, and Rose sits up. "You want breakfast?"

"That's breakfast?" Lily asks, concerned.

"Yeah, we couldn't exactly go to a fancy restaurant whenever we eat so we had to deal with gas station food. Not the best but it got us through" Rose replied not knowing that it worried the Potters more.

"No, thanks." Sam turns up his nose.

"Yes please." Dean throws an energy drink at her and some energy bars. Rose catches it and smiles gratefully at her older brother.

"So, how'd you pay for that stuff?" Sam queries. "Are you guys still running credit card scams?"

"What?!?!" James, Lily and Remus shout.

"Hunting isn't the best paying job. We do what we have to, to survive." Rose says without looking at them, still holding onto Sam's hand.

Rose takes a bite of her bar and with a full mouth states "Well, hunting isn't what you'd call a lucrative career." Dean puts the nozzle back on the pump laughing at his little sister.

Rose had a knack for making her family laugh. Dean often felt a twinge of jealousy when their dad returned from a hunt in a foul mood, only for Rose to cheer him up with her antics, earning a hug in return. She did the same for Dean and Sam. When Sam left, Dean was devastated, but Rose kept it together for him and their dad, who became more strict as he bottled up his feelings. Rose would always persuade Dean to go on walks, helping him escape his worries, even if just for a little while. Dean was fiercely protective of his sister, not realising how much Rose looked out for her brothers.

Upon hearing the news, Harry and James felt a twinge of jealousy, but they were also happy that Rose had people to protect and love her. They both settled back in their seats, holding hands with the women they loved.

"Besides, all we do is apply. It's not our fault they send us the cards." Dean continues from Rose's earlier statement.

"Yeah? And what names did you write on the application this time?" Sam swings his legs back inside the car and closes the door. Dean gets in the driving seat.

"Uh, Burt Aframian. And his children Hector and Candice. Scored two cards out of the deal." Dean says.

"That sounds about right." Sam says.

Sam changes the subject "I swear, man, you've gotta update your cassette tape collection." Rose gasps loudly and looks at Sam.

"Why?" Dean asks, offended.

"Well, for one, they're cassette tapes. And two. Black Sabbath?" Dean snatches the tape out of his hands as Rose chuckles.

"Don't diss Black Sabbath!" Sirius shouts, hurling popcorn at the screen.

Remus, bewildered, asks, "Where did you get popcorn?"

Sirius shrugs and gestures towards a table in the back corner of the hall.
