As Rai left the arena, the weight of his presence still lingered in the air, an invisible force that refused to dissipate. The students of Class 10-E stood in stunned silence, their battered forms somehow invigorated by what they had just witnessed. They hadn't won the match. Rai had won it. And yet, that victory had unearthed a new reality-one that unsettled them all.
Ichiro and Maiya exchanged a glance. There were no words to express what they had just seen, but they both understood one thing: Rai Katsuro wasn't merely a quiet genius in the background. He was a force unlike any they had encountered before.
"I don't understand him," Ichiro muttered, his voice hoarse from the battle.
"No one does," Maiya replied, her gaze fixed on the path Rai had taken. "But we better start trying."
In the Shadows of Argent Academy...
Deep within the halls of Argent Academy, far from the prying eyes of students, there was a hidden council-a group of influential figures who controlled much of what happened behind the scenes. Their meetings were never publicly known, and their motives rarely made clear, but their power was absolute. They governed the unspoken rules of the academy, deciding which students would rise and which would fall, ensuring that the delicate balance of power remained undisturbed.
At the center of the dimly lit room sat an imposing figure, Professor Hoshino, a man whose reputation for ruthlessness extended well beyond the academy's walls. He drummed his fingers on the polished table, his sharp eyes fixed on the glowing screen before him. The footage of Rai's confrontation with Class 8-C played in a loop, each frame showing the cold precision with which Rai dismantled his opponents.
"It seems," Hoshino began, his voice a deep rumble, "that one of our students has decided to step out of the shadows."
Around him, the other council members shifted uncomfortably. They had all seen the footage-Rai's effortless domination over Toru Saito's team, his monstrous aura that had suppressed everyone in the arena. This was not something they had anticipated. The students of Level Zero were meant to be legends, whispers of greatness, not something that made its presence known so blatantly.
"Katsuro Rai," Hoshino continued, his gaze sharp. "He's not following the path we laid out for him."
One of the council members, a thin woman with wire-framed glasses, cleared her throat. "Do we need to intervene? His actions today... they'll cause unrest among the students. The last thing we need is someone with his power upsetting the balance."
"No," Hoshino said, shaking his head. "Not yet. Let him believe he's acting independently. The more he believes he's in control, the easier it will be to manipulate him when the time comes."
