He saw her smiling as she talked with her manager, looking so happy with the news that her shoot would start soon. She'd be staying at a homestay near the shooting location. She'd be busy. Too busy. And she'd forget about him.
The thought made him feel like crying.
His eyes met Hyeyoon's, and she rolled her eyes at the look on his face. He knew he was being childish, but he couldn't help it. She was still his Im Sol. HIS IM Sol. Frustration boiled inside him because he couldn't call her name in peace, couldn't stand beside her whenever he wanted, couldn't hold her hand or kiss her in public.
He wanted to throw a tantrum, cry, scream, or throw a fit. Why couldn't he go with her? Why couldn't he attend their first awards show together? He wouldn't get to see how beautiful she looked in her dress, and couldn't admire her beauty in person. And it was all because of Depyonim.
Why, oh whyyyyyyy.
Her chuckle behind him snapped him out of his thoughts. He shot her a dirty look. "You seem to be having fun," he pouted.
She let out a small laugh, coming closer and wrapping her arms around his waist, resting her chin on his chest. "Oppaaaa," she called him cutely.
Wooseok harumphed, trying hard not to let her cuteness get to him. He wanted to stay angry. "Ooh, ooh, someone's not talking," she teased, still holding him. "Hongshi-ah, your appa is mad at omma," she said, her tone playful.
Wooseok rolled his eyes, pretending to be unaffected by her cuteness, but it was so hard to resist. "Why can't Depyonim let me go to the SDA with youuuu? Aaaahhhh." He flailed his hands and feet in mock frustration.
Watching him, Hyeyoon laughed even harder. "You're the one who agreed to go to Shanghai!" she reminded him.
"But you hadn't confirmed the awards yet when I said yes!" he accused, narrowing his eyes at her.
"My shoot schedule wasn't confirmed either, so I could go wherever I wanted," she shrugged, feigning innocence.
"I know what you're doing, Hyeyoon-ah! You tricked me into thinking you couldn't attend the SDA, so I'd agree to Shanghai, right?" He pointed at her, looking hurt.
"Aigooo, you're such a child," she said, shaking her head with a smile. She pulled him down to sit on the sofa, climbing onto his lap so their eyes were level. Her expression softened. "Oppa, you know better than this. My schedule was already blocked for the shoot, but when an opening came up, I wanted to greet the fans. Our fans. They've worked so hard voting for us. And since you couldn't go, I used the chance to attend." She cupped his cheeks, squeezing them lightly. "So stop throwing a tantrum, you big baby." She kissed him softly, but before she could pull away, he captured her face and kissed her deeply, pulling her closer until she melted into him.
