As a grown man, he wasn't prepared to fall in love so deeply and so quickly. She came like a sudden shower, soaking him from head to toe. She arrived like a gift from heaven and changed his life. Before her, he was just an ordinary actor without any major dramas or films, but then everything turned 180°. Suddenly, he was everywhere, and everyone knew him. But none of that mattered because all he wanted was her heart, her love, and her carrying his name. He knew that she was confused by his attention; she might be thinking that he did all of this because he hadn't moved on from their role. But that's where she's wrong. He never acted in their roles; he is himself. He's Sunjae.

He smiled to himself as he saw a small figure running toward his car. He had come to her place to take her for a night drive. This had become their routine whenever he didn't have a schedule, they'd go to their favorite tteokbokki place and go to Han River to eat together. She was wearing his hoodie that she had stolen many days ago. She looked so small, making him want to put her in his pocket so he could carry her wherever he went.

"Hi, Oppa!" she greeted him as she got into his car, smiling widely.

"Hi, Hyeyoon-ah," he answered, lowering his head and smiling back at her while patting her head.

"How was your day?" he asked, waiting for her to get settled before starting the car to drive off.

"Umm, not busy today. I only had one meeting in the morning for my new project," she explained excitedly, proceeding to tell him about her day.

Her new project, her new drama. He's in turmoil because he doesn't want her to move on so quickly from their drama. Selfishly, he doesn't want her to work with another actor and forget about him.

"Aigoo," she suddenly said, making him glance at her. "You always make that face whenever I mention my new drama."

"Do I?" he asked nonchalantly.

"We already talked about this, Oppa," she said patiently, looking out the window.

He sighed. Yes, that conversation. It was one of their deep talks, where he hinted how he felt about her—his need to protect her and his desire to be a part of her life, in whatever form that might be.

"I know, I just can't help feeling sad about it. It feels like you've moved on from me."

"Moved on? I didn't go anywhere. I'm still here, aren't I?"

"You know what Oppa means, Hyeyoon-ah," he said softly.

"Oppa..." she said sadly, looking at him. "I need time, and you said you'd wait for me."

"I'll wait for you, even for another seven years or more."

"Then why are you being like this?"

"I don't know," he said sadly. "My feelings for you are all over the place. I want you to be successful in your career, but then I don't want you to act with another man." He ruffled his hair, feeling angry with himself for being like this again, even after agreeing to wait until she was ready.

She just looked at her hand, looking so sad.

Seeing her like this made him sad. He understood her, and if he put more pressure on her, he knew she would flee. Taking a deep breath, he took her hand and intertwined their fingers. "Like I said before, Hyeyoon-ah, I will wait for you until you're ready. And please, never let go of me, even when I'm being ridiculous. Please bear with my jealousy, my immature mind, and my selfishness."

She looked up at him. "Oppa, I know it's not easy for you," she said, tightening her grip on his hand. "But please bear with me too, until I'm ready."

He smiled at her. "I will," he said, kissing her hand and laughing as he saw her cheeks redden. "So, what do you want to do right now?"
