Wooseok thanked his driver as he hopped out of the car, barely able to contain his excitement. He hurriedly stepped into the elevator, feeling a delightful rush of impatience as he raced toward a certain floor. When the elevator doors opened, he quickly punched in the key code to enter the apartment, his heart pounding with anticipation.
As he stepped inside, his eyes lit up at the sight of Hyeyoon, standing there with a beaming smile that could brighten anyone's day. Suddenly, she bounced on the spot, pointing at him like he did at his fan meeting. He laughed out loud, realizing she must have been monitoring his fan meeting with rapt attention. Oh, how he missed his silly girl!
She dashed toward him in an instant, jumping into his arms and showering him with a flurry of kisses. "I miss you! I miss you! I miss you!" she exclaimed between giggles, her joy contagious. Wooseok couldn't help but grin, kissing her back and pouring all his pent-up feelings into those sweet, tender moments.
"I miss you so much, Oppa!" she whispered, gazing deep into his eyes, her sincerity making his heart swell. He smiled back, knowing how much pride she had to cast aside to say those words. His heart felt full, bursting with love that was almost overwhelming.
"Guess you're not letting me go anytime soon, huh?" he teased, carrying her into the living room as she clung to him like a koala. He plopped down onto the sofa with her still in his lap, the playful atmosphere wrapping around them like a warm blanket.
"Not a chance!" she replied, burying her face into his neck, her cheeks turning a rosy shade as she felt suddenly shy after all those kisses.
"I miss you too, Hyeyoon-ah. It feels like forever since I've held you," he said, gently stroking her hair, savoring the moment.
"Me too," she said, tightening her hug around him. They stayed like that for a blissful moment, no words needed; just the sweet comfort of being together.
But then, breaking the bubble of happiness, Hyeyoon suddenly said, "I'm sorry." Wooseok's brow furrowed, but he stayed silent, waiting for her to elaborate. "It must be really hard for you."
Understanding her concern, Wooseok nodded. "I feel grateful for the love I've received, but those sesaeng fans can be uncomfortable," he admitted, the thought of them making him feel trapped.
"You can just ignore them! Don't give them any attention," Hyeyoon urged, her beautiful face clouded with worry.
He sighed, leaning back against the sofa. "I know it's annoying, but they're still people. I have to treat them with respect."
"But they follow you everywhere, Oppa! I just don't want you to get hurt!" she insisted, her voice rising slightly, clearly distressed by the thought.
"I know, Hyeyoon-ah," he replied, placing a comforting hand on her cheek. "But it's part of the job. I can't let their actions ruin my happiness. I just have to be careful."
Hyeyoon bit her lip, contemplating his words. "I just wish there was a way to make them understand you deserve your privacy. It's not fair to you."
Wooseok couldn't help but smile at her earnestness. "You really care, don't you?"
"Of course! You mean the world to me, Oppa!" she declared, her sincerity shining through. "I hate seeing you stressed. I just want you to be happy."
"I am happy," he assured her, pulling her close again. "Especially when I'm with you. You make everything so much better."
Hyeyoon's expression softened, and she nestled closer to him, finding solace in his warmth. "I just want you to feel safe," she murmured against his shoulder.
"Believe me, being with you makes me feel safe," he replied, his voice low and sincere. "I promise I'll be careful. And if things get too overwhelming, I'll let you and isanim know. Don't you worry."
"Okay," she said softly, though concern lingered in her eyes. "Just promise me you won't face it alone. I want to support you, no matter what."
Wooseok chuckled, feeling a swell of affection. "You really are something else, you know that? I promise I won't leave you out of the loop."
They shared a moment of comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other's presence. The weight of the world felt lighter when they were together, and Wooseok felt a renewed sense of strength. "Now, tell me all about your week!"
Hyeyoon's eyes sparkled at the change of topic as she excitedly began to babble about her new ads and the table read for her upcoming drama. He smiled, enchanted by her enthusiasm as she passionately recounted her excitement for the new role, practically bouncing in his lap.
However, she noticed that he wasn't showing any jealousy, and her brow furrowed in curiosity.
"What's with you?" she asked playfully, a teasing lilt to her voice. "This is so not you! You didn't throw a tantrum when I told you about my new drama."
"I also want to be your biggest supporter, Hyeyoon-ah!" Wooseok replied, his eyes sparkling with love.
Her smile widened at his words, and Wooseok couldn't help but smile back, feeling grateful for these moments—moments that reminded him of why he fought so hard to have her in his life.
