My parents looked at us, their eyes widening in surprise as they looked at us standing there, soaked to the bone and dripping water on the floor.

Y/m: Where were you all this time, y/n?

I swallowed

Y/n: Um, I was at the office.

I said, my voice sounding weak even to my ears.

Y/m: Who's the boy standing next to you?

I could feel my heart racing as my parents glanced at Taehyung, who was standing awkwardly behind me.

Y/n : Uh, he is..

I was feeling so nervous. But then..

Y/d: Taehyung? Mr. Kim's son right? What are you doing here with my daughter?

Y/n's dad said to taehyung

Taehyung looked uncomfortable, clearly caught off guard by my parent's questions.

Taehyung : Uh, yes, I'm Taehyung

he said, his voice slightly shaky

Taehyung : I was just dropping her off. We got caught in the rain on the way.

Y/m: It's really Nice to meet you. I heard a lot about you from your mom and dad. Your mom showed me your picture but never thought we would meet like this..

Taehyung awkwardly smiled, clearly not sure how to respond to my parent's friendly approach

Taehyung : Thank you, it's nice to meet you both as well.

he said, smile nervously

Y/m: But I don't understand one thing, how did you know Y/n and how did y/n meet you so late at night?

There was a tense silence as Taehyung and I exchanged a quick, panicked glance. I could see the wheels turning in Taehyung's mind as he tried to come up with a plausible excuse.

Taehyung : Um, actually... We work in the same office.

he said, his voice a little hesitant.

Taehyung : and when I saw her leaving the office this late I thought to drop her home..

My parents seemed skeptical, clearly not buying Taehyung's story.

Y/m: Really?

my mom said, her eyebrows raised in disbelief.

Y/m: You work in the same office?

Taehyung nodded, plastering a fake smile on his face.

Taehyung : Yes, we work in the same office.

he repeated, his voice sounding even more strained than before. Y/m turned her gaze from taehyung to y/n.

Y/m: Y/n, did you tell me about him that day?

I shifted nervously, feeling the weight of their gazes on me.

Y/n: Uh, yeah..

I said. trying to keep my voice steady. My parents looked at me with raised eyebrows.

Y/m: You never mentioned him before.

my mom said, her voice laced with suspicion.
