"Ugh! Your in insufferable" I fumed before stopping away to find wells. We continued to look for water out in the expansive forest. After a few hours I stumbled across the most magnificent water fall, me and wells shared a cheeky grin before placing a feet in. After a few hours exploring the water and the plants that surrounded it, we decided to go back to the camp it was getting dark.
As we neared to camp, distinctive cheering could be heard. Fuck I knew exactly was going, they were taking off their wristbands thanks to big old dickhead. Wells surged ahead of me, dropping the sticks we had collected at the edge of the drop ship. Just as I had suspected the kids were gathered around the fire pit. Bellamy and Murphy and miller positioned in the dead centre, right next to the fire place.
"Who's next?" Bellamy cheered to the crowd.
I trailed forward following wells in case.
"What are you doing ?" Wells yelled, his father authority becoming apparent in him.
Bellamy stepped forward, ugh what I would do to punch him right in the face.
"What does it look like we're doing chancellor? We're liberating ourself !"
The crowd cheered. A smirk plastered to his face."It looks like you are trying to get us all killed!" Wells challenges, frustrating evident on his face. I stood to the side of him, my arms crossed. These bellends think they are so smart but instead they are incredibly stupid. "the communication system is dead. So the wristbands are all that we have. You take them off, and the Ark will think that we are dying and that it is not safe to follow." he continued, edges of his father's authority breaking through.
I looked towards Bellamy, a smirk plastered on his stupid face. Murphy behind looked like a proud puppy. Oh the ever impressionable.
"That's the point, Chancellor". Bellamy replied. The crowd affirmed his position as leader with chuckles and snide remarks to Wells. I could see defeat begin to grace wells face.
"Ugh, are you that stupid. It is not just the council up there, it is our doctos, mechanics, engineers and overall just basic resources that we need to survive. So if you think that we can survive without them. you are more idotic than you look." I spoke getting right in his face, poking his chest to emphasis my points. behind me Wells, added "Besides, if it is safe down here, why would you not want the rest of our people to share it with us". I briefly glanced back at him giving him a reassuring smile, before turning back around, Bellamy's face now looking more like a storm cloud.
"My people are already down here. Those people (pointing towards the sky) locked my people up. Those people killed my mother for the crime of having a second child. Your father did that!" Hurt edged through his speech, I felt the smallest bit sympathy as it is not nice to lose someone.
"His father didn't write the laws, it is not fair to place to blame and guilt on Wells. He didnt get to chose his father!" I spoke up to him. Wells also lost his mother, therefore it is not fair to blame his only parent for the terrible acts. He did play a role however at the end of the day he was just doing what he thought was right.
Bellamy looked down at the girl, anger was evident on his face. I had gotten under his skin. He grabbed my upper arm pulling me beside him.
"No but he enforced, you are no different Kane's daughter. Not here though, not anymore. Here, there are no laws." I could tell the act of him holding me next to him was to assert his authority. "Here, we do whatever the hell we want whenever the hell we want. Now, you don't have to like it, Wells, Aspen. You can even try to stop it or change it, kill me. You know why? Whatever the hell we want." He shouted to the crowd.
"whatever the hell we want" Murphy affirmed beginning a chant that took no time for the delinquents to join in. I looked around the group, we are not going to survive with this type of dictatorship. Bellamy grabbed my other arm, pulling me in front of him. "Do not get involved in this again, little one, it will not end well for you" He challenged me, bending down to meet my eyes. "Try and stop me bellamy, I am not afraid of you" I stated not breaking eye contact. I tugged at my arms, he let go, simply looking down at me.
A loud clap of thunder broke the sky, the clouds opened and rain ensued. The cold drops danced on my face, splashed at the mud below my feet. This was the best experience I had encountered, the cold droplets, unlike any sensation I had felt. Wells broke my euphoric state,
"We should try collect this, it'll be a good water source". He said.
"Yes brilliant idea, Wells. Lets let these idiots be." Sending a final glare to Bellamy. Who simply smiled at her.
That night, me and wells settled at a base of a tree, we decided tomorrow we are going to try and construct some tents to get away from the elements. "Hopefully Clarke and others have made it to Mount Weather, we really need those resources." Wells thought aloud.
"knowing Clarke, I recon they most definitely have or are close to doing so. Better get some rest, lots to do to try and attempt to survive this craziness." I replied resting my head on his shoulder, before closing my eyes. "Good night, Aspen." He replied before drifting off to sleep.
I heard hushed voices from besides me, but didn't open my eyes.
"No, leave her, she is a pest but she is innocence in this, please bellamy" murphy's voice broke through. I chose to keep my eyes closed, just in case. "Fine, lets go wells." the kings voice replied. I could hear there boots crunch in the forest behind me. I waited a minute before, opening my eyes and began following them at a safe distance, being careful where i stepped to not make noise. It was not that difficult considering they were carelessly stepping and making deep tracks.
the group appeared to split off, numerous foot prints went up a hill whereas two continued on. following just the two, I stopped at the edge of a clearing hiding behind a rock.
"thats far enough" Bellamy spoke. Wells stood at a distance from him, turning around to face him. "I don't want to shoot you. Hell I even like you, Wells but i do need them (gesturing to the sky) to think that your dead" He said, a serious look on his face. Surely he is not going to use that gun, I wont let him."Why, Why are doing this, for real not some crap about about getting to do what you want to do?" Wells challenged him.
"I have my reasons, and i also have the gun. So, i ask the questions, and the question is, why aren't you helping me? Your dad banished you, and yet here you are still doing his bidding. Arent you tired of always doing what your supposed to do. Make a stand for yourself, take your wristband off and you'll see how amazing it feels." Bellamy spoke.
wells looked at his wristband, placing one of his hands on it. "No never" he replied defiantly.
Bellamy lifted the gun. "I am sorry it has to be this way" he stated simply. No, No, No, he is not about to shoot wells, i am not going let this happen, i thought. Moving away from behind the tree, locking eye contact with Wells, he frowned in concern.
"No, aspen get away from here !" Wells cried out. Bellamy turned towards me, a smile spread across his lips. "Oh little one, always in the wrong places". At this point i could see murphy and three other boys descend the hill, heading towards Wells. Turning away from Bellamy, "Murphy stop this is not you !" I moved toward them. The boys had grabbed a struggling Wells. I could see murphy looked conflicted, I knew deep down he was good person. "Come on Murphy, I know you, you are a good person. Please don't do this." He looked between me and Bellamy. I started to move forward, when arm encased my waist pulling me off the ground. "I think that you've said enough, little one." Bellamy spoke from behind me. He placed a hand over my mouth and held me to his chest by the waist. I tried to struggle but it was in vain.
"Do it murphy, think about your parents." his voice moved from behind my ear. Murphy nodded, they forced wells down, outstretching his arm. I continued to struggle in Bellamy's arms. He puts me down, turning my around gripping my upper arms. I pull harshly against him. "Let me go Bellamy, or I swear I will hurt you!" I spat with anger. Looking down at me, "This no longer concerns you, little one, and does not need your interference" he states, before bending down further and grabbing my legs and throwing me over his shoulder, before turning to walk back to camp. I tried to kick my legs and was punching his back but was to no prevail. I looked up, just as murphy had pried a metal rod under wells wristband, successfully popping it off. He looked at me, "I am sorry Aspen". I just stuck the finger up him, that was not my friend, that was Bellamy's bitch.
