"Another day... another body." Seokjin said as he put his phone back on his nightstand before he got up. Hoseok sat up and looked him over.
"Seriously?" He asked. "Do you want me to go home?"
Seokjin looked over at him and smiled. "Nah, stay and sleep... I was hoping to do this over breakfast, but..."
"Duty calls." Hoseok said with a smile, smiling more as he leaned down and kissed him. After they pulled away, Seokjin opened his dresser drawer and pulled a box out.
Hoseok looked at him, an eyebrow raised as he took the box and opened it. He smiled brightly. "A key?" He asked.
"To my place... you can come over whenever you want... surprise me sometimes after work... god, I would love to come home and just see you naked on my bed waiting for me..." Seokjin said.
Hoseok smirked. "I see...."
Seokjin buttoned up his shirt and put on his tie on before he watched as Hoseok stood up. "Ah, come on, I need to leave..." he said as he reached out and felt on Hoseok's abs.
"So... what does this make us? Still just fuck buddies?" Hoseok asked.
Seokjin kissed his cheek then kissed on his neck. "We'll talk about it when I get home... I gotta go." Seokjin said before giving Hoseok a hug.
"Okay... I'll be here waiting." Hoseok said with a smile as he climbed back into bed. "Be safe."
"I will. See you later. I'll call if I can't make it home. But really, get some more sleep, it's three in the morning." Seokjin said as he grabbed his things, his suit jacket then left.
—
Seokjin shivered a bit as he got out of his car and walked over to the crime scene. "Hey." Namjoon said as he walked up to him and handed him a cup of coffee.
Seokjin looked over at him. "Stayed at work? You're in the same clothes as yesterday."
"Yeah, I was working on the case." Namjoon said.
Seokjin shook his head. "You need to get laid." He said.
"Ah, is that why you look so relaxed? How is Hoseok?" Namjoon asked as they stood a couple feet back from the scene as the forensics team worked.
Seokjin smiled. "Good and I don't think I ever thanked you for sending him my way... I uh... I gave him a key to my place." He said before he took a drink of his coffee.
"Oh shit! Are you two dating?" He asked.
Seokjin's smile faltered. "No... I'm scared... our lives... our work is just..."
"Too demanding? I get it." He said as he watched as they checked the liver temperature.
"We got another body!"
Seokjin and Namjoon shared a look before they walked over.
"Well... body parts..." the officer said as he lead them to it. Dogs found it." He said as they handed their cups to him.
Namjoon pulled his gloves on and opened the black plastic back. "Fuck."
"Oh god." Seokjin said as he covered his nose and stepped away a bit.
Namjoon stepped back to get away from the smell of rotting flesh. "You good?" Namjoon asked as he watched Seokjin double over and gagged before he gave a thumbs up.
Namjoon looked down at all the bags. "What the hell happened here?" Namjoon muttered under his breath, his heart racing as he took in the gruesome sight before him. The scattered body parts, each wrapped in black plastic bags, were a stark reminder of the brutality of the case they were working on.
Seokjin took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "This is getting worse," he said, his voice shaky. "It's like he's escalating."
Seokjin and Namjoon stood at the edge of the crime scene, the stench of decay heavy in the air. The forensics team worked methodically, bagging evidence and documenting the grotesque arrangement of body parts scattered across the site. Seokjin felt a wave of nausea wash over him but pushed it down; they had a job to do.
"Another dismemberment," Namjoon said, his voice grim. "This guy is getting bolder. We need to figure out who the victim is and how he connects to the other cases."
Seokjin nodded, trying to shake the unsettling feeling that had settled in his stomach. "Let's head back to the station. We need to set up that witness with a sketch artist. If this guy has been seen, we need to get a clear image of him."
As they drove back to the precinct, the weight of the case loomed over them like a dark cloud. The city was on edge, and they could feel the tension in the air. Seokjin glanced over at Namjoon, who was focused on the road, deep in thought.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Seokjin said, breaking the silence.
"Sure. What's on your mind?" Namjoon replied, his eyes still on the road.
"It's about Yoongi," Seokjin began cautiously. "Did you ever confess?"
Namjoon sighed, the atmosphere in the car shifting. "I did."
"Is he still with Jungkook?" Seokjin asked, curiosity piqued.
"Yeah," Namjoon said, glancing briefly at Seokjin. "Unfortunately. I don't know man... there's just something about that fucking guy."
Seokjin nodded, understanding. "Yeah... he's a bit unsettling. I just hope Yoongi is okay and that he treats him well."
"Yeah, me too," Namjoon agreed. "But we can't lose focus. We have a killer out there, and we need to be sharp. Let's get back and make sure we're ready for that witness."
—
When they arrived at the precinct, they immediately set to work. They pulled up the witness's information and prepared to meet with him. Seokjin felt a mix of anticipation and dread as they settled in the interrogation room.
"Let's make sure this goes smoothly," Namjoon said, glancing at the clock. "We should have the sketch artist here soon."
"Right," Seokjin agreed, trying to clear his mind of distractions. He focused on the case, reminding himself that they needed every lead they could get. "I just hope he remembers enough to help us."
After a short wait, the witness was brought in. He looked nervous, shifting in his seat as he glanced around the room. Seokjin offered a reassuring smile.
"Thank you for coming in," Seokjin began. "We know this is difficult, but we're here to help."
The witness nodded, his eyes darting to the door. "I just... I don't want to be involved in all of this."
"We understand," Namjoon said, his voice calm. "But your information could make a difference. Can you tell us what you saw?"
As the witness recounted his experience, Seokjin felt a sense of urgency building within him. They needed to catch this killer before he struck again. The weight of the case pressed heavily on his shoulders, but with Namjoon by his side and the witness's information, they had a chance to put the pieces together.
After the witness finished, they brought in the sketch artist to create a composite of the suspect. Seokjin watched intently from the two way mirror as the artist worked, hoping that this image could lead them to the man responsible for the horrifying crimes that had shaken their city.
"Let's hope this helps us find him," Namjoon said quietly, his eyes fixed on the artist's pencil as it moved across the page.
"Yeah," Seokjin replied, determination flooding through him. "We'll catch him. We have to."
