A whole two months. That’s how long Stacy and Becky have been avoiding each other for and Macy was getting tired of Becky’s antics. Stacy hadn’t left her room throughout the two months, the only time she would come out of her room would be for dinner and to use the bathroom. Even their parents had noticed that something was wrong with Stacy, they didn’t know what happened to make their daughter like this but they were sure to find out. That’s why they brought both Lacy and Macy into the living room one day to ask if they knew anything about her mood.
The two sisters walked into the living room and saw their parents sitting on the couch waiting for them. Lacy and Macy stood there confused as to why their parents were sitting waiting for them. The only thing they could hear was the TV that was playing in the background muttering nonsense that wasn’t true to people who believed them.
“Did somebody die?” Lacy asked, breaking the silence and sitting down on the other couch.
“Yeah, did somebody die?” Macy asked as she sat down next to Lacy also wondering what was going on.
“Nobody has died, honey. Your father and I want to know if you know why Stacy has been in a mood for the past two months.” Their mother, Ashley, inquired as she looked at her daughters.
The two girls looked at each other before saying, “No” at the same time.
“Are you girls sure? You both seemed hesitant to reply to your mother.” Their father, Adam, said as he smiled at his daughters.
Before anyone could say anything else, Stacy trudged down the stairs and walked into the living room and sat in between Macy and Lacy and laid her head on Macy’s shoulder. They all realised just how much she looked like a wreck. Her brown hair looked like a bird built a nest on top of her head. There were purple bags under her eyes, showing them that she hasn’t had much sleep. Her eyes were severely bloodshot as she watched the TV as she changed to a different channel. Stacy’s skin had slightly lost its tan since it had been two months since she had actually gone outside into the sun. She was wearing a slightly faded ACDC t-shirt, a pair of black shorts and white socks.
Stacy looked like the epitome of depression.
“What are you talking about?” Stacy asked before she let out a yawn.
“We just want to know what has got you in a mood like this, honey. Your mother and I are very worried.” Adam said with a worried expression on his face.
“Nothing is wrong dad. If you have to know, I had a fight with someone close to me after they told me about something I didn’t know about. It then led to an argument and I haven’t spoken to the bitch for two months. That’s all.” Stacy told him bitterly as she continued to watch the TV.
“What was the argument about, sweetheart?” Her mother asked her.
“Ask Macy, she knows all about it. So does Lacy, so ask her while you’re at it.” Stacy said bitterly before she got off the couch and walked into the kitchen to get something to eat.
“What does she mean by that?” Their mother asked the girls after Stacy walked out.
Macy and Lacy stayed quiet for a few moments before Stacy walked back into the room with a cup of something in her hand.
“What is that?” Lacy asked as she stared at her older sister.
“What would you do if I say it’s alcohol?” Stacy asked as she looked at her parents.
