(Robin's POV)

During breakfast, I kept glancing up at Finn. He just looked back at me with a sort of unsettled look. I don't know why...He just looked almost happy to be with me, but also like he wanted to leave this very moment. "So how was everyone's Christmas Eve." Bruce asked "It isn't really a holiday is it?" Vance responded. Bruce glared at Vance. "I know that, but like...It's Christmas today...Don't you do anything the day before Christmas." Vance just shook his head before slurping on his cereal.

"Anyways, where's that mixed chick Finney?" Billy asked. "Dana?" "Yeah." "Uh, I'm pretty sure she's in Porto Rico...On a yacht, with her parents, and yeah..." Finn rubbed his nose before looking down at his finished oatmeal. "Hm, she's rich right?" "Well, she's able to go here with her parents'money, so yeah." Billy just nodded. "Cool..." "I'm gonna head back to my room." Everyone nodded including me. Finn stood up and left without any more words.

"What's up with him?" Vance asked. "What?" "He's acting weird." "And how would you know that Vance?" "I just feel like he's acting differently that's all, chill." I rolled my eyes. "You and Finney both." "Vance-" Bruce muttered. "And what exactly is that supposed to mean?" "I don't know? You push me away for that kid." "He's not just some 'kid' thanks." Vance just scoffed before standing up and leaving.

Bruce stands up brushing himself up. "I'm gonna...go." Bruce follows after Vance, which leaves me and Billy by ourselves.  "Do you like him?" I looked up at Billy who looked at me almost poisonisly. "Um, and if I do?" "I just wanna know, like I've known him since like first grade, so, I'd really want to know since he's also basically my best friend."

"I don't have to answer that." "No, you don't, but I want you to.....Along with the fact that he's been acting weird as shit lately. Ever since you two have suddenly become closer." "Not that it's any of your business, but no, I'm not 'romantically in love with that freak'" Billy raised his eyebrow before standing up and walking away.

I looked down feeling my stomach twist in different ways it's never been before. Why did I say that? I stood up quickly before leaving the dining myself.

----

When I got to my room I opened the door to see the bathroom light on from under the door. Probably Finn. I walked over to my bed before plopping down and grabbing my phone. "Robin?" I looked up to see Finn peeking through the door without a shirt on. "Uh yeah?" I asked looking up. "What's the time?" "Why you got a date?" Finn rolled his eyes. "Seriously." "9:56" "Okay, thanks." After that Finn closed the door before doing whatever the hell he was doing before.

------

It was about lunch time now but I didn't feel like eating. I just missed my mom, and home overall. She dropped me for her crackhead of a sister. God, it was painful to think I wasn't her first priority. As cocky as that sounds, I help her, and don't take her money for drugs. Suddenly a letter slipped under my door. I glanced at it to see The same hand writing that was on the note of the one I received on the first day.

I got up before picking it up.

Party at the barn 11:00pm

What the fuck was the barn? I stared at the note before putting it on my desk. I then heard a knock on my door. "Mail." I opened the door to a guy handing me a letter in the green envelope that made my heart skip a beat. Dad. I haven't mailed him in weeks.

I nodded before closing the door and tearing open the letter.

Dear Robin,

Haven't heard from you in weeks, did you get murdered? Your mom visited me and told me you weren't coming for Christmas. Not by choice of course, but you should've come anyway, you're old enough to stay home alone. Get back to me, I know school isn't that hard, especially since you never work kid. Merry Christmas.

Dad

I scoffed after reading it, I don't work? I've literally supported mom since you went to fucking war. I crumpled up the letter before throwing it into the corner of my room. I sat down grabbing a pen a paper before writing....

Hey Dad,

I've been busy with homework, this school is much stricter than my last. So I'd expect that, maybe not you, but whatever. Have a good Christmas, moms sending you a book for your gift. It's not much, but really all we can afford. Keep you updated

Robin

I sighed before folding it and adding a stamp and everything. Over the years, I developed better hand writing, and just became quick with putting together a letter since my father expects me to send him one practically every single day.

I got bored quickly before walking into Finn's room. He looked like he was about to leave. "Where are you going?" "Gonna take a shower." I nodded before sitting down on his bed. Finn nodded before leaving his room. I looked around my eyes landing on a toy rocket ship. I laughed before standing up and grabbing it. "What is this?" I mumbled. I twirled it around in my fingers before it slipped. "Shit..." I went down on my hands and knees grabbing it as it rolled under his bed.

I grabbed the rocket ship, before making eye contact with a wooden box. I raised my eyebrow, my curiosity getting the best of me as I reached for the box too. I sat on the floor before putting the box in my lap. "What the hell?" I lifted the box noticing how old it looked. I opened it my stomach dropping.

Inside the box held razors, unknown drugs, a spoon, fucking lighters, and even a needle. I took each thing out of the box. "I'm gonna quit drugs and shit" . That's what Finn said, so why the hell does he still have this shit?

Suddenly Finn opened the door with gym shorts and a t-shirt. His hair was still damp, and he looked scared as he saw the box in my hands. "What the hell Finn?!?"
