Narrator:
Liam turned and walked away, his shoulders slumped, his eyes filled with hurt. He couldn't believe Damian's words. "It's just rumors, it's not a big deal, chill out." The words echoed in his mind, a constant reminder of Damian's indifference. He couldn't believe that the boy who once shared his secrets, his dreams, his heart, could be so callous.
Damian watched Liam walk away, a strange mix of emotions swirling within him. He felt a pang of guilt for dismissing Liam's concerns. He hadn't realized how much the rumors had bothered Liam. He thought it was just a silly, harmless gossip. But seeing Liam's hurt expression, he realized he had been wrong.
Damian: It's better for him to find out that way than me telling him everything I found out myself, but why is it a big deal to him? Why am I regretting what I said earlier though? What is this feeling that I'm feeling right now? I'm getting confused!
He realized he was the only one left in the hallway. The bell had rung, and everyone had gone to class. He hadn't even noticed.
Liam's POV:
Why isn't it a big deal to him? I knew all along that we're just friends, nothing more, but why is he giving me mixed signals?
Xavier: You good?
Liam: Yeah, it's nothing. Just thinking of something.
Xavier: Is it about him? What did he say?
Liam: He knew about it.
Xavier: What did you say?
Liam: Forget about it. Let's just go home.
Xavier: Will you tell me?
Liam: When time comes, yes.
Xavier: Well, that's not fair~
Liam: Hold on, I forgot to get my notebook at my locker.
Xavier: Alright, I'll wait here.
Liam: Wait for me here, okay.
Liam hurried back to his locker, his mind racing. He couldn't understand Damian's reaction. He couldn't understand his own feelings. He felt confused, hurt, and a little bit scared. He knew he needed to talk to Damian, but he wasn't sure how.
