After God spoke those words, everything went black. Seconds later, I opened my eyes and was in the middle of the streets of Time Square, New York. Confused, I looked back at Alivia, who reverted to her small form, "Why are we back in New York?" She giggled and replied, "This is Limbo!" "Uhh.. are you sure because this looks like home to me." I responded, "Look closely Kairo."I surveyed everything around me, then I noticed the sky was gloomy and darker than usual. Also, the streets were flooded with people, but it was different. Their bodies appeared ghostly, and I could hear their voices along with traffic sounds. But, it was all muffled, as if I had my ears clogged with water. Even weirder, I could hear Alivia clearly, and our bodies seemed normal. "Try touching someone," Alivia tells me, I did as she said, I reached for someone's shoulder but my hand moved straight through their body. "What the hell?", then I attempted to speak to someone, but they continued walking with no reaction as if I wasn't even there. "I don't understand, what is this place?" I asked, Alivia answered, "Limbo, the in-between of life and death. We can see and hear them, but they can't see or hear us. Think of us as spirits or ghosts if you will." I gasped, "Wait, GHOSTS?!!" "Yes, we are on the outskirts in the world of the living. We can't interact with anyone here, only observe."
I chuckled nervously as I twitched with irritation, "Then where the hell are these 7 Deadly Sins I am supposed to kill?!" Alivia holds out her hand, a glowing light spurs from her palms, and then suddenly a compass appears. My face was immediately shrouded with doubt, "A compass?" Alivia snarled, then said "At first glance, it appears to be a normal compass. But, this compass will navigate us in the direction of the nearest evil presence. This is what we will use to find the Sins." I chuckled and brushed my hand through my hair, "Uhh. I don't know how to use a compass so... I'll leave that part up to you!" I patted her on her back, her cheeks blushed red with anger. I started strolling down the street, "Now where is the compass pointing us." Alivia flutters her wings and flies in front of me, "How are you going to lead without knowing where we're going?!" "I don't plan on following a little girl around, plus I'm the one who has to do the killing. I would hate to report back to Heaven and inform God of your death because of failed chivalry. As far as I'm concerned, you're under my protection"
Alivia grunts then kicks me in the balls, "How's that for protection!?" I fell to the ground curling into a ball, I wheezed in pain as Alivia studied the compass. "I guess we're in luck, the nearest evil presence seems to be close by." I reply, "I think I'm going to need a minute to recover." Alvia laughs meticulously, "So much for protecting me huh?" Just as those words left her mouth, something dropped from the sky, planting itself in the middle of the street. Its landing caused the ground to shake, leaving a crater from its fall. The ground beneath us cracked and dust filled the air.
I quickly jump to my feet and unsheathe both daggers that are attached to my boots. Once the dust cleared, there was a demonic creature standing before us, its wings spread out 20 yards in width. The eyes of this creature were glowing red, a devilish smirk stretched across its face, with fangs peering from its mouth. The creature looked human at first glance, aside from the wings and fangs. 'A woman?' I thought to myself, her fingernails grew into large, black, needle-like claws. The creature growls and asks "Why have you come here?" 'Finally a fight'.
"I'll make this quick..." I said to Alivia, I took one step and lunged forward, but my body felt different than before. It was as if my body was enhanced, I could feel it in my veins, and I was suddenly enriched with magical power. Within a second, I had a knife to the demon's neck, my speed and agility were god-like. "Not fast enough!" The demon disappeared into a dark mist as I swung my dagger. 'Damn! She's fast!' I sensed her presence above me, I looked up, and her wings spread wide. Her claws came crashing down like lightning, I managed to evade the first attack, but she pounced at me again, this time she was aiming for my heart. I was able to parry her attack off-target, but her claws impaled my left shoulder, 'That was close!'
