' My destiny has been sealed since birth, no matter what I do, I'm Hell-bound. Born into a world full of sin, darkness, betrayal, and malice. I never stood a chance '

The screeches and growls of every monster surrounding me pierced my ears, I heard the stomps of their footsteps as they got closer. I stared into the dark portal; I thought I could do it; I thought I could earn my redemption. Like before, I let the people closest to me fall into the hands of darkness, Akami, Yuki, Alivia, Mom, Dad, and even Domi. It keeps happening, this is one Hell I can't escape. I felt the demons biting on my flesh, puncturing me with their claws, yet I had no strength to scream, this is my fate.

Just before I closed my eyes, a dazzling light illuminated the sky, 'Heaven?' "Kairo!!" I know that voice, or maybe I'm just hearing things, considering I am on the brink of death... again. The immense light shone like the sun, in the shape of a star, the radiance was almost blinding. Suddenly, this mystical star began to spin rapidly, spitting out meteorites. At first, I thought they were directed toward me, but instead, the meteorites were disassembling the enemy forces. Smashing their bodies into the ground as their blood sprayed across the battlefield and then disintegrated into ash.

I was astonished by the power emitting from this star, the spear that pierced my body retracted back into the dark cloud it ejected from. I dropped to my knees; my muscles were tight, and I could feel the weakness in my legs. I struggled to stand, and my legs were trembling in pain. Then, I felt a hand on my back lifting me to my feet. "Sorry I took so long, but I'm here now!" I glanced over my shoulder, and immediately my eyes widened in shock. "Alivia?!" "Stay back, I'll close the portal!" She yelled at me confidently, I noticed she was in her original angelic form, but she was different her wings were covered in lightning, and her fists were immersed in the same blue flames as my weapons, but her power was different. The spiritual aura I could feel generating from Alivia was fierce.

Alivia reaches her hand into the sky gracefully and etches out the shape of a cross. "Deliver me O my God; protect me from those who rise up against me; deliver me from those who work evil and save me from bloodthirsty men!" Alivia exclaimed, then she placed her palm against the cross of light she drew, the cross shot forward expanding itself and blocking off the portal. She continues reciting scripture, "You Lord God of hosts, are God of Israel. Rouse yourself to punish all the nations; spare none of those who treacherously plot evil!" Every demon that attempted to move through the portal was burnt to ash. Bolts of lightning immersed around the portal of darkness.

I was dumbfounded at the sight, amazed by her power, 'Where does this power come from? God?' The light of the cross shone brighter by the second until suddenly the power imbued into the enormous illuminated cross, discharged into the portal and the gateway from hell was destructed, blowing the cloud apart and closing the portal. The explosion illuminated the sky, rendering me sightless for a moment. Finally, when my vision returned a few seconds later, the air was clear of all darkness, and the shadow of evil cast from the malevolent cloud disappeared. All of the demons that surrounded us screeched and roared in anger. I holstered my firearm and picked up my katana, duel-wielding my katana and axe. I could barely stand but I was inspired by Alivia's prowess, "Thanks Alivia, I got it from here." I dashed forward, massacring the rest of the enemies, their blood splattered across my face, 'I'm not strong enough yet, I have to keep fighting!' Every devil standing before me met the tip of blades, and I slaughtered them unceasingly. Until nothing except the dreadful smell of death and the grisly sight of blood was the only thing left on the battlefield.

"We win," I uttered aloud before my body collapsed to the ground, as I passed out from exhaustion.

1 week later...

I opened my eyes to a dim light hanging low from the ceiling, I turned to the side and Alivia was lying on the floor beside me sound asleep. The last thing I remember is the sight of gore on the battlefield, memories of the fight flashed through my mind. I was knocking on death's door, questioning God all over again. But then Alivia showed up, if it wasn't for her, I'd be walking through the gates of Hell with no hope for redemption. I brushed my fingers through her hair as she slept peacefully. I was grateful for her return; I thought she was dead, and I allowed my hunger for vengeance to cloud my judgment. I spiraled into a furious rage, accepting a second death as my divine punishment. "Thank you, Alivia."
