Mishika hesitated as she stepped into Daksh's house

Mishika hesitated as she stepped into Daksh's house. The grandeur of it was undeniable, but there was something unsettling about the place. The halls were quiet, too quiet. People moved around like clockwork, not sparing her a glance. It felt like everyone was programmed, robotic in their efficiency. They minded their own business, not saying a word to her or each other.

Mishika felt a chill run down her spine. Creepy. She quickened her steps, eager to reach Dadaji's room.

Inside Dadaji's Room:

As soon as Mishika entered Pratap Rajvansh's room, the eerie feeling from the rest of the house faded. Dadaji's smile, warm and inviting, made her forget about the coldness beyond these walls.

"Mishika! Finally!"- Dadaji called out, a wide grin stretching across his wrinkled face. He sat comfortably in his armchair, a soft blanket draped over him. "I thought you'd abandoned this old man."

"Never, Dadaji"- Mishika replied, her voice light but sincere. She moved closer, reaching out to hold his hand. "How could I stay away?"

Pratap chuckled, squeezing her hand gently. "And where's Ahana? And little Bella? I thought you'd bring them along."

Mishika bit her lip, quickly thinking of an excuse. "Ahana got caught up with some work, and Bella... well, she's still mad at me for that bath I forced on her last week." She laughed lightly, but her mind was still caught in the eerie feeling she had outside.

"Ahh, that sounds like them. You should bring them both next time. I miss having all of you around. This house gets too quiet" - he said, his gaze distant for a moment before he focused back on her. "Promise me you'll come more often?"

"I promise, Dadaji" - Mishika said softly. "Next time, I'll bring both Ahana and Bella, and we'll spend the whole day together."

Pratap's smile widened, but just as Mishika felt the warmth return, a sudden sound echoed from outside. A loud, sharp bang. Mishika froze, her heart racing.

Her eyes shot toward the window, her body tense. Was that... a gunshot?

Before she could say anything, Pratap chuckled. "Fireworks, dear. The kids around here prank people with them, even in daylight. Can you believe it?" He shook his head in amusement.

Mishika forced a laugh, trying to calm her nerves. But inside, she wasn't convinced. Something felt off. She couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't just fireworks.

Just as Mishika tried to shake off her unease, the door creaked open, and Daksh strode in, his usual cold expression in place. A cigarette hung loosely from his fingers as he entered the room.
