s. 4 ep. 5: The Long Game

(Hey guys :) I know this is extremely late, and I'm sorry. I thought I was gonna be sick for longer, but it literally went away in a span of three days. So...yeah :) but also I want to apologize for how things might have been different lately. I've been taking longer with the updates because I've lost a little bit of motivation to update this story. And I think I know why I think it's because after season 3 I lost a bit of excitement for this story. Do you know the feeling whenever you complete a favorite game or movie series you like? A wave of sadness and emptiness fills you up)

(Pause)

(You then sit there and wonder what else is there for you to do? I got that feeling after season 3. It was the most fun and exciting I've ever felt in writing. And you guys know I don't like season 4. Not just because of Brooklynn and Kenji getting together, but it being the weakest of the story. Season 1, 2, and 3 were golden due to their story's being self contained and living up to what we expected from being stuck on island with dinosaurs. But season 4 kind of abandoned that. It just lost its charm of what made it special. And Season 5 was not that much better. I prefer it over season 4, but not by much)

(So yeah, I guess that's why I haven't been updating as much. But I'm trying to fix that. So I wanna challenge myself. I wanna get this story done before the end of the year. Obviously, I can't get Chaos Theory done because that hasn't been completed yet. But I at least want to get this one done before next year. I want to release a new episode every single day till we finish this or at least try and get these episodes out quicker)

(But yeah thats what I've been feeling lately. So yeah thank you guys for waiting and being here :) I love you guys. Anyways enjoy :)

We walked back to the others after having just lost our chance of getting home. All cause of a dinosaur. We made it back to the airlock seeing the others running out.

"The plane left without you?" Mae said. "I'm so sorry. I don't understand what's going on here, but you have my word that I'll get you off this island somehow."

"No." Darius said. "We're not leaving. Obviously, this isn't what we wanted. Like, at all. But we can't quit now. Mantah Corp doesn't care if they're hurting their dinosaurs. And Mae, you can't protect them all on your own. We have to stay until we fix this, however long it takes."

I looked on with anger and confusion. "Sure. Whatever you say." Yaz said in agreement.

"No." I spoke getting everyone's attention. "I don't know what type of hero you're trying to be, Darius, but we are not staying! This isn't our problem! These aren't our dinosaurs!"

"If we don't, Mantah Corp will continue to hurt the dinosaurs." Darius argued back.

"Who cares, they're animals, countries all around the world do the same thing! They're just killing machines!"

"Y/n, calm down." Brooklynn pleaded.

"Stay the fuck out of this, B! if I call, you agreed to help! Causing us to lose our chance to go home!"

"Hey! You're out of line, Y/n!" Kenji defended.

"Oh, don't even get me started on you asshole. If I recall, you were willing to give Wu the laptop allowing him to make more Hybrids!" He looked guilty a bit.

"Y/n, please calm down." Yaz pleaded with me.

"CALM DOWN???!!!! How the hell do you expect me to be calm about this?! We lost our way back home because of a fucking dinosaur! I tried to convince you guys that it was a bad idea!"

They all backed up as I continued to rant. "Y/n, we know you're mad but you need to calm down and do something else then ranting off." Sammy said.

"I AM DOING SOMETHING!!! I'M KEEPING THIS GROUP TOGETHER, ALIVE!!! I'VE BEEN DOING THAT ALL ALONG, NO MATTER WHAT!!! I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS!!! I KILLED MY BROTHER FOR YOU PEOPLE, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!!!"
