Yn froze in the doorway, her heart thudding in her chest. She stared at the two unfamiliar men sitting in her living room, but something about the taller one, bthe one whose eyes were fixed on her, felt eerily familiar.

His dark eyes, so intense and dangerous, reminded her of the man who had visited her store twice. The stranger who sent chills down her spine.

Could it be him?

Her breath hitched. She trembled slightly as she stood in place, her skin crawling under his predatory gaze. There was no mistaking it.

“Eomma, who are these people?” Yn asked, her voice barely concealing the panic bubbling inside her.

Mrs. Kang smiled nervously, sensing her daughter’s unease. “Yn-ah, this is Mr. Kim Jae-Hyun and his son, Taehyung. They’ve come to... talk about something important.” She glanced between Yn and the two men, a flicker of concern crossing her face.

“Talk about what?” Yn’s voice wavered, and she felt her pulse quicken as her eyes remained on Taehyung.

Mr. Kim cleared his throat, breaking the tension. “Yn, I’m sure this may come as a surprise to you, but we’re here today to propose a marriage between you and my son, Taehyung.”

The words hit Yn like a tidal wave. “What?” she nearly choked, the absurdity of the situation making her head spin. “You’re joking, right?”

Her mother, sensing her daughter’s distress, quickly stepped in. “Yn, they’re serious. It’s a proposal for marriage, but of course, it’s your decision to make.”

Yn could barely process the words. A marriage proposal? To a man she didn’t know, no, to a man who had been watching her, stalking her. Her mind flashed back to the dark figure outside her store, those same eyes staring into her soul.

“I... I don’t understand,” Yn stammered, trying to steady her racing thoughts. “Why me?”

Taehyung’s deep voice cut through the room, his tone cold and unfeeling. “Because I want you.”

Those words felt more like a command than an offer. Yn’s heart sankn There was no warmth in his voice, no affection. He spoke as if she were something to be claimed, something that already belonged to him.

“I don’t even know you,” Yn whispered, taking a hesitant step back. “How can you expect me to agree to something like this?”

Taehyung’s eyes darkened, his expression unreadable. He stood up, his imposing figure casting a shadow over her. “You’ll get to know me after the marriage,” he said, his tone final, as if her refusal wasn’t an option.

“let's talk about it, no hurry,” her mother added nervously, but even she seemed taken aback by the way Taehyung spoke to her daughter  like she was already his.

Mrs. Kang noticed Taehyung’s unsettling demeanor and glanced at Mr. Kim. “Mr. Kim, I think we need more time to discuss this as a family. This is a big decision for my daughter.”

Mr. Kim quickly stepped in, smiling warmly, trying to ease the tension in the room. “Of course, Mrs. Kang. We didn’t mean to overwhelm you. Take your time. We understand this is a lot to take in.”

But Taehyung didn’t seem to share his father’s patience. He remained standing, his eyes never leaving Yn. “You have until tomorrow,” he said coldly, his words directed at Yn, making her heart race even faster.

Before anyone could respond, Taehyung turned and walked out of the house, his father following him.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Yn collapsed onto the couch, her hands trembling. “Eomma, what just happened? Who are these people?” she asked, her voice shaking with fear.

Mrs. Kang sighed deeply, sitting beside her daughter. “Yn, I don’t know what to make of this either. The Kim family is powerful and wealthy, but... something about this feels strange. I don’t like the way Taehyung spoke to you.”

“I don’t want to marry him, Eomma,” Yn whispered, her voice barely audible. “He scares me. He’s the same man who came to the store, the one who watched me. I know it’s him.”

Mrs. Kang’s face paled at her daughter’s words. “What? Are you sure?”

Yn nodded, her heart heavy with dread. “Yes. I’m sure.”

Mrs. Kang placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Then we won’t go through with it, Yn. You don’t have to marry him. We’ll find a way to decline.”

LATER, FOLLOWING THE SAME NIGHT.

Yn lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling, trying to shake the dark thoughts swirling in her mind. Taehyung’s words replayed over and over. 'Because I want you'. It felt like a threat. A shiver ran through her body as she tried to calm her racing thoughts.

Her phone buzzed on the nightstand, snapping her out of her thoughts. An unknown number flashed on the screen, and her heart sank. She didn’t want to answer it, but something in her gut told her she had to.

With trembling hands, she picked up the call. “H-Hello?”

There was a brief silence before Taehyung’s voice filled her ears. “You’ll say yes, Yn.”

Her breath hitched. “I-I can’t. I don’t want to marry you,” she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper.

His low, dangerous laugh echoed through the phone. “You don’t have a choice. You will marry me. Or I’ll make sure there’s no other option left.”

Yn’s hands shook violently as she held the phone. “You can’t force me.”

“I can do anything I want, Yn,” he said coldly. “And if I have to force you, I will.”

The line went dead.

Yn stared at her phone in disbelief. The weight of his words crushed her, suffocating her with fear. She quickly threw off her covers and rushed to her mother’s room.

“Eomma,” Yn whispered, her voice breaking. “I can’t marry him. I don’t want this.”

Mrs. Kang sat up, her face etched with worry. “Then you won’t, Yn. We’ll find a way to stop this, no matter what.”

Yn felt a slight relief, but deep down, she knew that Taehyung wasn’t the type of man to take no for an answer.
