~~~~~SMACK!
The sharp sound of the slap echoed through the room, cutting through the silence. Jin's palm had connected with Jungkook's cheek in a flash, and the force of it made Jungkook's head snap to the side.
Taehyung gasped, his hand flying to his mouth. "HYUNG!" he exclaimed, rushing forward, his heart thudding painfully in his chest. He couldn't believe what had just happened.
Jungkook, stunned, remained still for a moment, his cheek burning from the impact. Slowly, he straightened, eyes wide, but he didn't raise a hand to retaliate. He knew this was Jin's way of expressing everything he'd been holding back—the hurt, the frustration, the betrayal.
For a beat, the room was silent, except for Taeguk, who had begun fidgeting, sensing the tension but not fully understanding it. Taehyung stood between Jin and Jungkook, torn, his mind racing as he tried to figure out how to diffuse the situation.
Jin's voice broke the silence, low but laced with barely contained emotion. "You—" He struggled to find the words. "You really think I would play hello-hi with you?"
Jungkook's gaze dropped to the floor, guilt flickering in his eyes. "Jin-shi, I know I messed up," he admitted quietly, his voice strained. "But I'm here now. I'm trying... for them."
Taehyung looked between the two of them, his heart aching at the tension between the people he loved most. He placed a gentle hand on Jin's arm. "Hyung, please," he whispered. "We need to talk. But not like this."
Jin closed his eyes for a moment, breathing heavily as he tried to regain his composure. Finally, he exhaled, stepping back from Jungkook. "We'll talk," he said firmly. "But don't think for a second that everything is forgiven just because you're here." He turned on his heel and walked over to where Taeguk was playing.
Jungkook stood in place, staring at the floor. Taehyung moved toward him, his heart heavy with conflicting emotions. "Jungkook..." he began softly, his fingers brushing against Jungkook's cheek.
Jungkook glanced up at him, offering a weak smile. "It's okay," he said, though his eyes still held the weight of everything unsaid. "I deserved that."
Taehyung shook his head, sighing. "No one deserves that," he whispered, leaning into Jungkook's chest.
_____Taehyung and Jin were seated in the living room, the tension thick between them. Jin had pointedly refused to let Jungkook sit anywhere near them, so Jungkook was in the room with Taeguk.
"Hyung, please..." Taehyung pleaded, his voice soft and imploring. "He's changed. He's not that Jungkook anymore."
Jin rolled his eyes dramatically, waving his hand in mock dismissal. "Yeah, yeah, I've heard that over a thousand times, Tae. But ngl that bullet thing? That one really got to me!"
Taehyung's eyes softened with the painful memory. "I was scared, hyung. So scared. I thought I'd lose him forever. I—I even told him to die, and—"
Jin immediately placed a reassuring hand on Taehyung's, squeezing it gently. "Hey, baby, it's okay. He's still here, isn't he? Breathing, unfortunately," Jin muttered the last part, glancing towards the room.
Taehyung managed a small smile. "He's okay."
Jin sighed dramatically, then straightened up. "Alright. Go call him."
"Hyung, don't say anything harsh. Please," Taehyung warned, his eyes narrowing suspiciously.
Jin gave him a look that said he was offended by the mere suggestion. "I know, I know. I'm not a savage. Just go get him, and you? Stay in the room. This is just between me and him."
