23. Maddening Sick Leave

Monday morning's weather was warm because it was the end of May after all. The first day of June is Maena's wedding day, which is the day after tomorrow. However, today and tomorrow she still had to focus on the final exams of the term. She had two more left, today and tomorrow. And after that they start a month break from university.

Bora and Maena sat at the table in the free study hall to study for today's exam. "If you need help or more notes, just ask.", Bora said, knowing that Maena wasn't so prepared for the exams as she herself was. 

"Yeah, okay. The most important thing is to get through with tolerable score. I will try to invest and focus more next semester.", Maena convinced. 

"Yes, of course. You had a slightly different final month, which is surely the most important.", Bora noted, meaning all the stress and pressures Maena went through. 

"Right, about that.", Maena remembered and picked up her bag to take something there. She pulled two wedding invitations that her mom made and gave to her recently. "Here.", she stretched out the invitation to Bora. 

"Yes.", she said excitedly and started reading the card. "The design is so nice. Your mom made these, right?", she asked and Maena hummed as a response. 

"Jihoon.", Maena called him in the next table with his friends and he immediately turned to look at her. "Come here for a while."

He stood up from his seat and took a seat at the girls' table. "Here's to you too. You both have front seat places, though. I guess all our close ones have.", she said. 

"Cool.", Jihoon claimed and read the card too. 

"How is Sunghoon doing? However, it's only been a couple of days since the accident and he should be at the altar soon.", Bora inquired. 

"I'm not really sure. He seems really well to me, but then I really don't know if he is. When you know, I can't see through him, he hides his feelings and thoughts a lot.", Maena replied truthfully. But she didn't find it as a bad thing, because over the time when they get to know each other he will probably starts expressing more his feelings too.

"I understand.", Bora nodded but with a small frown. 

"Oh yes, but one thing happened yesterday. He brought me here yesterday when I quickly went to get some notes. Then Kangjoon happened to be there and came to talk to me, well actually still trying to get me back. Sunghoon noticed it and approached us. He might have realized the situation because it already happened once right in front of his eyes. He seemed somewhat angry, really.", Maena spoke. 

"Wicked.", Jihoon breathed out, his eyes round.

"Maybe he didn't want Joon to molest you like that.", Bora guessed.

"I know. But like, I know him myself and I know that he is harmless, even when angry. But the look in Kangjoon's eyes when he looked at him, Joon was intimidated. And it was weird because I would have thought that he would have started saying his things right at Sunghoon's face. You know Joon.", she explained.

"Well, I won't lie, besides all that handsomeness, he's scary.", Jihoon ensured. Maena frowned a little. She never though him as scary, but maybe it's because she knows him better.

"But also guess what?", she then asked, going to the better part of yesterday. She thought they'd notice the ring on her finger, but they probably thought it was just an accesory of hers. 

"What?", they both asked simultaneously.

She pulled her left hand in front of them. "He proposed to me yesterday.", she said with happy giggles.
