The silence was starting to get on everyone's nerves, of course, sooner or later this battle would eventually start and Kevin was well aware of this. He looks down as he starts to think of the many possible strategies they could use to get out of this situation, looking up with a perked expression Kevin pulls out his book and starts writing inside of it. Inside the book Kevin wrote down a couple of key ideas before he closed it, filled with determination, he pulled Max and Petunia into a circle quickly.
Kevin: alright I have a plan but it's still in the works, we don't have a lot of time before he might attack us so do not speak until I say something to you...nod if you guys understand.
Max and Petunia look at each other before nodding back at Kevin.
Kevin: good, now listen up clears throat we need to figure out how to get out of this place because the longer we are here the more dangerous it is, we all will split up and run into the halls of the school. I will look out for any escape, you two will keep this weirdo busy and PLEASE do not take this lightly because I know the both of you will, so do not.
Before Max and Petunia could respond or ask any questions Ubel's sickle stabbed roughly into the ground in the middle of the circle, they all looked at Ubel with shocked and frightened looks as he started walking toward them.
Ubel: look I'm not on a time limit or anything but I rather get this done quickly, k?
Max: chuckles well if you want to end it fast, you gotta catch us! runs into the left hallway
Petunia: catch us if you can, loser! runs into the right hallway
Kevin: what did I just tell you guys?! Ugh! runs away from Ubel in the middle hallway
Ubel stands there as he watches the three split into their hallways, he takes a moment to think before pulling the chain connected to his sickle back towards him. He runs into the left hallway to go after Max thinking that he might be an easy and simple target first, Petunia looks behind her to see Ubel running after Max so she stops in her tracks and starts running after him. Max looks behind him as he keeps running to see Ubel swinging his Sickle around in the air, he starts feeling nervous hoping he won't get hit anytime soon.
Ubel: hmph swings it toward Max's body
Max: ! oh crap! slides onto his knees
Max quickly starts sliding on his knees as the blade slices a strand of hair off his head, Ubel quickly repositions the sickle to move the other way aiming for his head now.
Max: Woah! goes completely flat onto the ground
The blade misses Max and gets lodged into the wall next to him, Ubel tries to pull it out with one tug but it's too deep inside for just one hand. Max gets up from the ground quickly and backs up from Ubel.
Ubel: hmph, impressive for someone as small as you.
Max: hehe, I guess I'm just that amazing you know?
Uble: stares at him from running? Yes, yes you are.
Before Max could respond Petunia jumped high into the air behind Ubel and pulled back her leg, preparing to strike his head with a strong kick.
Petunia: I gotcha now! throw's the kick HAH!
Without looking, Ubel grabs Petunia's leg with his hand and throws her into the right side of the wall.
Petunia: Ahh!
Max: Petunia!
Petunia slides down the wall revealing a small fractured dent behind her body, she struggles to get up for a second before fully standing up again. Max runs to her and grabs her pulling her away from the wall, they both now are standing in front of Ubel with a bit of sweat running down their faces. Ubel looks at the both of them with an annoyed face before fully taking his sickle from out the wall which causes a bit of rubble to fall out, he wraps his free hand with the connected chains to give him more control over his weapon.
Ubel: Time to have some fun now holds up the sickle you kids ready to die now?
Petunia and Max look at each other before giving one another a determined look, they then look at Ubel with passion burning in their bodies.
Petunia: We might be just some kids but you better believe we can still kick your ass, old man!
Max: yeah, besides we just need to pass some time for our buddy Kevin balls his fist so you aren't going anywhere while we are here.
Ubel: ... chuckles a bit alright, fine then points his sickle at them let's begin.
Without any more words being said Ubel rushes towards the two ready to attack both of them, he pulls his arm back and swings his blade towards Max and Petunia as it spins in the air, Max and Petunia both jump away from the blade as it smashes into the ground, the impact causes some of the ground to break into pieces. Petunia sees this as an opportunity and kicks some of the pieces toward Ubel's face, Ubel pulls his chain back to him and spins it in a forward motion, doing this he breaks the pieces coming to him in half.
Petunia: huh, thought that would work.
Ubel: sighs I'm surrounded by idiots.
Ubel pulls back the chain once again and throws it, aiming it at Petunia's leg to wrap around. Max takes quick notice and catches the blade with both of his hands before pulling on it, he then starts trying to rip the chain out of Ubel's hands but this causes his hands to start bleeding a little from the blade's sharp edges.
Max: A-ah! That kinda hurts!
Petunia: grabs the chain here, I'll help ya!
Max and Petunia start pulling the chain together with all their strength, they manage to make Ubel's grip loosen a bit but it isn't enough to fully make him let go. Ubel looks at the two with udder disappointment and disgust, pulling on the chain himself now, he manages to pull the two towards him fast as he moves his leg up and kicks him both roughly, sending them both to the ground as they cough in pain.
Ubel: if you'll excuse me, I need to find your nerd of a friend.
He turns away and starts walking off when suddenly he feels a rock hit his head.
Ubel: ! tch...
Turning around Ubel sees Max standing up while Petunia is still on the ground getting up, Max wipes some dust off his cheek before putting his fist up ready to attack him again. As much as he wanted to find Kevin, he knew Max wasn't going to let him get away, so in retaliation his eyes started glowing dark red as he tightened the grip of his chain.
Max: ! huh? What's going on with your eyes?...
Ubel doesn't respond as he grabs his sickle with his free hand tightly, causing it to bleed all over the edge.
Ubel: if you want to try and fight someone so bad, then I'll let you fight another me.
As if on cue the blood on the sickle starts forming all around it, making it shake violently before falling out of Ubel's hands. Ubel stands back as he watches the Sickle shake violently on the ground, Petunia finally gets up as she sees the event play out.
Petunia: uhh Max, What's going on?
Max: rubs his head i have no idea...
The blood that has covered the sickle starts to form into the figure, it morphs, twists, and turns until it stops and reveals to be the spitting blood image of Ubel. Max and Petunia look at it with shock as it looks at them both with its blank glowing white eyes.
Ubel: this is the power of the red, however, mine is unique from the others you may encounter...well, IF, you encounter them walks away good luck, you'll need it.
Max: ! Hey! Wait!
Max tries to run after Ubel but Petunia pulls him back just in time to avoid the Copy's fist hitting the ground, it slowly looks back at the two before standing straight up again.
Petunia: we gotta beat this thing before we can go help Kevin.
Max: right, but the thing is looks at the Copy up and down how?...
The Copy rushes toward them both and throws out strikes of attacks at both of them, Petunia and Max are stuck dodging the attacks as they also try to look for an opening to fight back. As Max and Petunia fight the blood copy Kevin is looking around for an exit with a remote device in his hand, he feels the walls with his free hand to maybe find a hidden door or passageway out of the madness He and his friends are currently in.
Ubel: for someone as smart as you, I would have figured you would find the exit already.
Kevin: ! turns around and faces Ubel ...I'm close to finding it and getting us out of here, so whatever you want to say to me say it now.
Kevin puts his remote device behind him as he looks straight ahead at Ubel, Ubel notices but doesn't pay too much mind to it.
Ubel: your friends are fighting my blood copy right now, that should buy me some time to end your life.
Kevin: ! Blood copy, explain.
Ubel: and why should I?
Kevin: thinks for a second If you are going to kill me anyway, what's the matter with answering my questions? No one else is listening and no one else will know.
Ubel thinks to himself for a full minute as he looks up, meanwhile, Kevin takes the time to enter the number code 19230 into his remote device's keypad slowly so he doesn't raise suspicion. The device starts glowing blue and vibrates a little as a sign that it's found what Kevin was looking for, before he could act Ubel looks back at him.
Ubel: alright, I'll answer your question. points to the lights these's lights? They aren't the reason this whole school is red, it's because of the reverse state we are in, otherwise known as Red Bay. only people who Dr. Eye has given power to can come into the Red Bay at will. If you were to go outside, you would see the sky has turned red as well. points to his eye my power is called "Blood smith", I can make any weapon as long as I have enough blood in my body.
Without hesitation Kevin pulls out a small recorder from his pocket and stops it, he then puts it back quickly before revealing his device to Ubel. Ubel looks at it with a confused look but he doesn't ask about it, instead, he dashes in front of Kevin to grab it out of his hands. Kevin is taken aback by Ubel's speed and gets the device taken from him, however, it was his intention for it to be taken from him.
Kevin: Device T1, electrocute key module!
Ubel: hm? ! ARGHH!
Ubel gets a very dangerous shock from the device and lets it go almost instantly, he stumbles back before falling onto the ground unconscious. Kevin runs over to the device and takes out a little chip from the keypad, he then runs off to find Max and Petunia to finally get them out of there.
Max and Petunia are still fighting the blood copy, it throws out punches and kicks left and right as it seems to not get tired. Petunia dodges a punch and hops onto its arm, she then kicks the copy's face hard as it lands on its knees. Max sees an opportunity and dropkicks the Copy's back roughly causing it to fly ahead and crash into a wall.
Petunia: nice kick!
Max: I should be telling you that!
They both fist bump as they see the blood copy struggle to get back up, before it can get up Kevin puts his device into its body and runs off, and as soon as the copy moves the device explodes and destroys the copy's body completely but not for long.
Max: woah! Way to go Kev!
Kevin: now is not the time for chatting, I know how to get out of here but we have to be fast.
Petunia: fast? I can be fast, where are we going?
Kevin: the main entrance, if my device is correct then we should be able to simply get out if we get close enough.
Kevin runs over back to the blood copy's corpse and takes back his device, it reforms back into shape and Kevin holds onto it tightly. He takes out a little tube from the back and takes a sample of blood, with it he puts it in the back of the device to keep it safe.
Kevin: alright, let's go!
They all run off to the main entrance of the school in a hurry, Kevin holds up his device in the air as it starts to shake violently. Max takes notice of this and finds it very interesting, Petunia seems to notice as well but she is more interested in what's been going on this entire time. They reach the entrance when suddenly Ubel's blood copy dashes in front of them, the blood morphs its hand into a huge blade before thrusting it fast towards their bodies. Max quickly pushes them both out of the way before taking the strike, it makes a huge slash into his clothes and onto his chest.
Max: AHHH!! falls down
Petunia and Kevin: MAX!
Petunia rushes over to Max and grabs him, she puts his arm over her neck before lifting him to stand.
Petunia: Kevin I don't know what you have planned but GET US OUT OF HERE!
Kevin: WAY AHEAD OF YOU!
The blood copy tries to strike again but Kevin is fast enough to press a button on his device, causing them all to glow blue before being transported out of the Red Bay into the real world once again. They all fall outside of the school as they notice their surroundings, but before anything could happen Max coughs up some of his blood.
Petunia: Max! scoots over to him you'll be okay, I promise!
Max: oh...that's good, I'm glad- coughs I'm glad you both...are safe...
Kevin started speaking but Max was falling unconscious, he couldn't hear anything that was being said to him but he could faintly see what was happening. He looked around as his eyes started to shut to see Petunia trying to talk to him, but before then, his eyes shut completely, everything fading to black. It was a tough battle for the three, they weren't expecting to get out but they were thankful they did. With Kevin now having evidence and a full understanding of what the red lights in his school meant, he knew this wasn't the end of the so-called "Red Bay". what could happen next? We'll just have to wait and see...
