When Jennie got back to the villa and got out of the car, Kuma immediately ran towards her at the speed of a hundred meter sprint, overjoyed.

After not seeing her for over a month, Kuma had grown bigger again, and the yellow fur on his neck, limbs and belly was more noticeable. He looked especially docile and honest. Jennie squatted down to hug the dog, and Kuma enthusiastically licked her. Jennie tried to block him a couple times, but didn't succeed.

Lisa walked around from the driver's side and saw the places on Jennie's face that Kuma had licked. His expression was complex.

This dog is too lucky.

"Let's go inside first," but he still stroked Kuma's head, and told Jennie, while also cutting off the possibility of Kuma continuing to lick her.

Jennie smiled and murmured in agreement.

The villa was luxurious. Although Jennie hadn't fallen so low as to want to live here forever, going from the simple dormitory to this extravagantly decorated villa still gave her an involuntary sense of relaxation. Returning to the bedroom on the third floor that belonged to her, Jennie sprawled on the soft bed, just wanting to sleep comfortably.

Someone knocked on the door.

Jennie hurriedly got up and smoothed out the wrinkles on the bed she had made, then flew to open the door.

Lisa stood outside. The moment the door opened, Kuma and Leo eagerly squeezed through the crack.

"I'm free this afternoon. Let's take Kuma to the hospital? First get Kuma a check up, then ask what we need to pay attention to before the surgery." Looking at the clueless Kuma, Lisa said calmly. He had looked online - dogs need to be cared for carefully for about a week after being neutered. Jennie would definitely want to stay with Kuma.

Jennie knew what he meant and said awkwardly, "Grandpa doesn't allow it..."

"He's stubborn and set in his ways. Don't listen to him," Lisa said without mercy when the old man wasn't around.

Jennie thought of their marriage issue - grandpa was quite conservative.

"Okay, wait a minute, let me wash my face first." She still hadn't washed off the places Kuma licked.

Lisa's gaze lingered on her slender little face for a few seconds before he went downstairs to wait.

After washing her face, without Jennie calling them, Kuma and Leo followed her downstairs together. Kuma was very good at guarding the house and would keep barking if a stranger came, but it didn't resist Leo. It curiously circled Leo a few times, got its nose patted by Leo's paws a few times, and then readily accepted this new companion.

The car had been brought around. Lisa had Kuma get in first. Jennie held Leo and went back to the bedroom, stroking and kissing it to comfort it for a good few minutes before closing the door, filled with guilt. Leo wasn't familiar with the villa yet, and Jennie was afraid it would get lost if it went out.

"Towards A University?" Once in the car, Jennie's gaze dodged as she asked. Lisa hadn't changed clothes, but his car was too flashy.

"Let's go to another one," Lisa said as he drove out, glancing at the rearview mirror.

Only then was Jennie relieved. She let Kuma sit next to her and held onto it to keep it from making trouble.

The pet hospital Lisa chose was in the opposite direction from A University. After waiting in line for the check up, Kuma was very healthy. The doctor gave them some pointers and asked them to bring Kuma back tomorrow afternoon for the surgery. Although neutering pets can reduce the risk of disease and prolong their lifespan, Jennie still felt Kuma was a little pitiful. She kept Kuma company after returning to the villa, barely leaving the room.

The next afternoon, the two brought Kuma for neutering as agreed. Kuma was in the operating room for over an hour, and when the doctor brought him back out, he was missing two little eggs...

Jennie felt especially bad for Kuma, and treated him even better afterwards. For the next few days, you could say they were inseparable.

Lisa only had two days to accompany her before flying out on the 3rd, and wouldn't be back until the 6th.

Lisa being away didn't impact Jennie much. She played with Kuma and Leo, studied, and when she was tired, watched movies - the long break passed enjoyably and fulfilling. At noon on the 6th, she got a call from Lisa saying there were changes there, and he would be delayed by a day, only getting back to the capital around 7pm that night. He told Jennie to wait for him so he could take her back to school.

Jennie didn't want him to go to so much trouble and said, "I can go back myself, you don't need to rush back..."

"Wait for me," Lisa didn't let her refuse, and hung up after saying that.

After the call ended, Jennie stared at her phone, suddenly not really understanding Lisa's thoughts. She was already an adult, a university student, but Lisa's attitude towards her, visiting her once a month, picking her up and dropping her off at school, seemed a bit like an adult taking care of a child.

But the next day, Jennie still tidied up her bag early and waited for him at the villa.

At 6:30pm, there were sounds downstairs. Jennie went out to the balcony and happened to see Lisa getting out of the car. The man was dressed in a fine suit, neat and tidy, with no visible tiredness from his business trip.

Jennie grabbed her bag and clattered downstairs. When she got to the turn in the stairs on the second floor, she bumped into the villa owner who was coming up.

Jennie smiled at him out of habit. "Have you eaten dinner?"

Lisa looked up at her, staring at her sweet smiling face. His eyes gradually darkened, like a starving man who finally saw a meal he had been craving.
