After finishing the skewers, drinking a bowl of slightly sour and refreshing tomato egg drop soup warmed Jennie's entire body.
There was thick snow on the road. Lisa pushed the bike with one hand and held Jennie's hand in his pocket with the other.
The snow crunched under their feet. His hand was big and warm.
When they got to the garage, Lisa bent over to lock up. Jennie was especially reluctant. He had come over in the heavy snow and waited two hours, but she had only kept him company for a meal.
"Shall we go for a stroll?" As students gradually returned from evening self-study and wheeled their bikes into the garage, it was clearly not a suitable place for kissing, so Lisa asked Jennie in a low voice.
Turns out he hadn't had his fill of her company either.
Jennie felt sweet inside. She said softly, "Let me put my things upstairs first."
Lisa: "Be quick."
Jennie's face turned red. She swiftly turned around, bag in one hand, gift bag from Lisa in the other. When Lisa had first handed it to her, Jennie had peeked inside and it looked like four big red apples.
"You're back so early? I thought you were going to take a stroll around campus. A snowy wander, how romantic." Cheng, Irene and Seulgi were all studying. Bored from reading, when Jennie came in with the pretty gift bag, Chaeng couldn't resist teasing her.
By now Jennie could calmly deal with this degree of ribbing. She held up the gift bag and handed out apples.
Seulgi, the first to receive an apple, exaggeratedly gasped and held the apple high, praising loudly, "Wow, I've never seen such a huge apple in my life! As expected, with love's nourishment, even apples are bigger than other families'!"
Jennie couldn't help chuckling.
After giving one to Irene, as Jennie lowered her head to get one for Chaeng, she suddenly noticed that besides two prettily ribboned red apples, there was also a red elongated gift box.
Jennie blanked for a moment.
Chaeng's eyes were sharp. She immediately craned her neck to look. Just as Jennie wanted to hide it, Chaeng's hand shot out swiftly and grabbed the jewelry box. Irene came from the wealthiest family. Chaeng's hand just flashed through the air, and Irene was already exclaiming in surprise, forgetting to continue munching her apple. "Oh my god, it's Cartier!"
The name was unfamiliar to Jennie, but Chaeng immediately dropped the jewelry box into Jennie's hand as if scalded, afraid she might accidentally damage it and not be able to afford compensation.
"Jennie, quick, take a look!" After a brief shock, Seulgi and Irene crowded over too. Having already heard from Irene that Lisa had booked two presidential suites in one go, the three roommates had decided Lisa must be a wealthy man. So now their focus was on what was the gift, rather than delving into Lisa's profligate actions.
Jennie was embarrassed. "He's still downstairs..."
"Just take a quick peek. Go back down right after," Irene urged excitedly.
Jennie was curious about the gift too. With a strangely nervous heart, she opened the box in front of her three roommates.
There were two lights on the dorm room ceiling, but their vision was almost entirely blocked by the three girls' heads. Still, the ruby apple pendant inside the jewelry box dazzled them, even in the poor lighting. The discreet platinum chain set off the thumb-sized ruby, whose color resembled blood. Magnificently luxurious, plus the romantic Christmas Eve atmosphere, no woman could resist its charms.
