There was coming and going in the dormitory building. Lisa grasped Jennie's hand and quickly led her away.On an autumn afternoon, the warm sunshine welcomed the setting sun to the west. Jennie felt hot from head to toe, as if soaking in hot water.
She tried to break free from the man's warm big hand.
Lisa firmly held on, tilting his head to look at her, "Feeling the heat?"
She turned her head to the right, "I ate some tangerines."
Lisa smiled. Even if she really ate tangerines, that kiss must have contributed.
"Don't be like this..." Jennie shook his hand again. She had agreed to a pretend engagement before coming to the capital. Why was he always touching her inappropriately? Jennie was unwilling. If he thought he could take advantage of her just because the engagement allowed her to attend university, she would immediately return home.
Her face darkened, she was really unhappy. Looking at how far away the lakeside was, Lisa had no choice but to let go for now.
"Where are we going?" Jennie stopped and lowered her head to ask. She came down to see Lisa in hopes he would explain himself clearly, not wander around aimlessly with him. Thinking back to Lisa's words "into my arms" on the stairs, the more she thought about it, the more improper he seemed.
"To the lakeside, I have something to tell you." Lisa explained in a low voice, "It's not suitable to discuss over the phone, so I haven't brought it up these past few days."
Jennie pursed her lips and continued following him forward.
The college's campus lake was located west of the library building. The lake was long and narrow in shape, with some undulation along the shore. Lisa led Jennie under a thick locust tree by the shore, the location relatively secluded. Jennie looked left and right, seeing some girls painting in the distance. Only then did she suppress her dangerous imaginings.
Arriving under the tree, Jennie still kept her head low waiting for him to speak.
"Close your eyes. I'm going to get something. When I get back, I'll tell you to open them." Lisa bent down, looking straight at her as he gently spoke, his tone as soothing as a fairytale narration, leading one into a dreamlike world.
They were so close Jennie turned her head away, frowning as she asked, "What exactly are you trying to do?"
"You'll know in three minutes at most." Lisa held her shoulders, leaning her against the tree. His dark eyes gazed at her pleadingly, "Be good, close your eyes."
Jennie hesitated for a moment before obediently closing her eyes after less than three seconds. She didn't know if it was because she was eager to escape his hands or affected by his tone, or perhaps she didn't want him looking at the blister on the corner of her mouth from so close.
"Wait for me, three minutes max." She was being so good, Lisa gave her shoulders a final squeeze before quickly walking over to the girl helping him keep the roses. After taking over ten steps, he looked back again to admonish his well-behaved girl, "Don't open your eyes."
He walked backwards, the setting sun stretching his shadow into a long line on the grassy shore. His dark eyes happily watched the girl under the tree. Having been a CEO for several years, the business elite was now radiating youthful spirits, his voice seemed to carry the breath of youth unique to one's student days.
Jennie leaned against the tree trunk, lightly scratching the bark with her hands.
How long was three minutes?
