"Watch this," she said, her voice brimming with anticipation. Without waiting for my reply, she let out a whistle-like call, a sharp, melodic sound that pierced the quiet night air.

I blinked in surprise, my gaze shifting past her to the ocean, which glowed greatly under the sunlight. The breeze picked up, swirling around us as if responding to her call. For a moment, all was still, the world holding its breath in anticipation. Then, from somewhere in the distance, a screech broke through the silence, high-pitched and wild, followed by the unmistakable sound of massive wings cutting through the air.

I turned my head towards the source of the noise, my heart quickening in my chest. The flapping of wings grew louder, becoming more distinct and less distant. And now, I could feel the tremor of their movement ripple through the atmosphere. My eyes scanned the sky, searching, and then I saw it—an enormous creature descending from the heavens, its silhouette framed against the blue sky. The sight of it was both breathtaking and terrifying, as though a fragment of my past had come rushing back to me in an instant. It felt familiar, painfully so, yet my mind still struggled to grasp the memory that was trying to surface.

As the creature came closer, its wings spread wide, powerful, and majestic. The air around us stirred violently, the gusts kicking up dust and loose leaves, swirling them into the sky. I took a few involuntary steps back, and my instincts warning me of the sheer size and power of what was approaching. My hand instinctively reached out towards Ma'vona, seeking her reassurance, but before I could catch her, she stepped forward, her posture calm and confident. She raised her arm in greeting as the massive banshee swooped down, its sharp, predatory eyes locked onto her.

The banshee landed with a graceful thud, its talons sinking into the earth, sending a small tremor through the ground. It folded its wings slowly, its leathery skin gleaming in the eye blinding sunlight. The creature was stunning, every inch of it exuding raw strength and untamed beauty. My breath caught in my throat as I took in the sight of it. It was both familiar and foreign, a piece of the world I had long forgotten, but now I found myself reconnecting in a way that felt both thrilling and terrifying.

“Shh. Calm down, girl. Calm down…” Ma'vona whispered soothingly, her voice a gentle melody against the backdrop of the wild. She raised one hand, palm open and steady, as she approached the banshee with a calming presence that seemed to fill the air. Slowly, the creature's frantic movements began to subside, its breathing evening out as it responded to her tranquil energy.

With a delicate touch, she placed her hand over the banshee’s neck as if they had known each other all their lives. She turned back to me, her eyes shining with excitement, the bond between her and the banshee clear and powerful along with the warmth of her skin contrasting with the cool, smooth surface of its feathers. Leaning in closer, she rested her forehead against its beak, creating a bond that transcended words. In that intimate moment, the sky creature fell silent, lulled by the tenderness of her touch and the softness of her breath.
