As we took to the sky, I nestled myself closer to Neteyam against his back, and together we soared above the treetops, scanning the land below for any signs of the sky people.

The wind whipped against our faces as I latched tightly to Neteyam's back, my arm secured around his shoulders as we soared high above the land. Neteyam's Ikran, Ayura, moved gracefully beneath us, responding to his every thought as we circled the terrain below, eyes scanning for any trace of the sky people. Neteyam placed his hand over my thigh, holding me close that made me feel protected under his touch.

I gripped his shoulder with one arm while my other arm held my bow that rested over my shoulder. Despite my earlier determination, I could still feel the tension in my body. I was alert, focused, yet I knew from within that I hadn’t fully recovered from my injury. But I felt my spirit as fierce as ever, and nothing anyone said could have kept me from joining this search.

Above and below us, warriors spread out in groups, each pair taking their own path, ensuring no corner of the land or the sky went unchecked. The vast landscape stretched out like a canvas beneath us, the dense forest merging with rivers and mountains as we rounded the area, watching for the telltale signs of the sky people. Debris, equipment, hidden camps—they always left something behind, something that revealed their sinister plans.

Flying alongside us was Txä'vo, his Ikran matching the pace of Neteyam's. His sharp gaze cut through the air as he glanced over at us. And for a second, I noticed his eyes drift to where Neteyam's hand rested on Ma'vona’s leg, his protective grip not going unnoticed. Neteyam looked to the side, noticing Txä'vo's gaze as well. Txä'vo said nothing, but the smallest flicker of recognition passed over his face—a brief expression I couldn't quite tell.

Txä'vo had been quieter than usual, his sharp gaze scanning every inch of the land below. I knew he had his own doubts, just like we all did.

Suddenly, I noticed a shift in Txä'vo. His head snapped to the side over us, eyes narrowing as if he’d caught a sight of something. He didn’t say much, just glanced back at me and Neteyam before speaking in a low, commanding voice. “Carry on with your search, Neteyam,” he said, his tone leaving no room for questioning.

Before Neteyam could ask what he’d seen, he veered off, his Ikran diving swiftly out of sight, leaving us alone in the sky. I watched him disappear, a flicker of confusion settling in my chest, but Neteyam followed his order without hesitation. Whatever he saw, it was enough to take him away, and now Neteyam and I were left to continue our search.
