A/N: I'm not really a fan of this chapter I honestly rewrote in plenty of times. I might rewrite it again tbh. It's pretty short but the next one will be fairly long. Also we are almost at 1k reads🤗

I pull back from the kiss when I realize I need to breathe. "I really like you Kara." I tell her. "But it kind of scares me. I haven't felt this way in a long time."I tell her and she listens. "I think I want to be with you but I think we should wait. Until after the mission." I tell her. "That way we can properly talk without all the worries on our mind." I tell her with a smile. The didn't want to tell her the whole truth. I didn't want to tell her that I was too afraid to love her.

"I understand and I kind of agree with you." She tells me. "Also, I think I like you too." She says smiling with a hint of pink on her cheeks.

"Come on let's get back inside." I said smiling to her and holding out my hand for her to take. Before we even make it inside Alex rushes out and I can see the panic in her eyes.

"Something wrong with the hulk. He's thrashing around and they are afraid he's going to break out. They can't tranq him either. H oh We gotta get down there." Alex tells us. I needed to help him. I don't know what's going on but I was about to find out.

"Come on let's fly." Supergirl says and I raise a brow at her.

"I can't fly." I tell them and they look at me curiously. "I can hover. There is a difference." I tell them.

"But didn't you.-?" I cut Alex off.

"No time to explain. Supergirl! Carry me like one of your friend girls!" I yell out and Alex rolls her eyes.

"That's not even the line." She huffs out. "Either way you two get a move on. I'll meet you guys there." She tells us and before I know it Kara grabs me and we're flying straight to the D.E.O. I needed Bruce to be okay.

We finally make it there and we rush to where they are holding Bruce. There are plenty of armed guards and a few of them with tranquilizer guns but it would be of no use anyway. I teleport inside the room where he's thrashing around and get a good look at him. My eyes widen when I realize what's going on.

"Hey buddy." I say softly but he doesn't seem to hear me. "You have to calm down okay. It's time to sleep." I tell him. Once he recognizes my voice he starts to calm down but not by much. "It's time for you to rest okay." I tell him. I can see the inner turmoil. Bruce was awake and fighting to get back to the surface. I walk up to him and grab his extremely large hand. He's fully calm by now and I can see him start to shrink. Slowly his green armored skin turns into pale human skin.

Bruce is a little bit wobbly on his feet from the disorientation and he's clutching to his over stretched purple shorts. He looks over to me and it takes him a second to recognize me. I forgot he wears glasses. Come on powers don't fail me now. I try teleporting back to my apartment and surprisingly it works. I go to my book shelf and grab his long forgotten glasses and a prototype device I was working on specifically for him.
I teleport back to the room and hand him his glasses.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, Bruce." I say to him and he smiles weakly.

"A.J." He says softly and awkwardly hugs me while still holding on to his shorts. "Where am I?" He asks me confused looking around at his surroundings.

"You're in California. This is the DEO. Think of it as shield or the avengers tower." I told him. "I made this for you." I said showing him the device. "It stops you from unintentionally turning into the hulk. It also helps keep your blood from being contagious." I tell him and he looks at me in relief. I place it on his chest and he winces as it latches on to his skin and sinks in. "Sorry." I say to him. Just then Alex and Kara, who is now in her supergirl suit, comes in the room.

"Alex and Kara, meet Bruce Banner and Bruce meet Alex and Kara. We are apart of a new team." I tell him and he widens his eyes.

"I'm sorry did you say team?" He asks me chuckling.

"Yeah whatever." I say rolling my eyes.

"Can I get some clothes please?" He asks awkwardly and Kara gasps before speeding away and then coming back with basic clothes and shoes for him.

"Get dressed and we'll talk." I tell him and the three of us leave the room while Bruce changes. When we walk out the room I notice the small army of armed guards is now down to two people.

"So that's Bruce?" Alex ask me and I nod.

"Yeah he might be able to help us too." I tell them. "If he decides to. Before he went missing he told us that he was done after we did one more mission." I tell them. Suddenly we hear a knock on the door and we head inside the room.

"Do you remember what happened?" I asked him and I can see his gears turning.

"I remember being knocked out and waking up in Asgard. After that I don't remember because the other guy took over. Then I woke up here." He tells me. Where was he in all those years? How did he make it back to Earth? That seems like another mystery for us to solve but we were running out of time. Maybe after all of this is done and over with we can explore that. Well they would actually have to explore that without me.

"Bruce I found it." I tell them and his eyes widen.

"The headquarters?" He asks and I nod my head.

"We are invading in a few weeks." I tell them. "We could really use your help." I hope he agrees.

"I'm not sure, A.J." He says to me. "I was stuck as the other guy for so long I think I'm ready to move on." He tells me avoiding my eyes.

"Please, Bruce, we could really use you out there." I tell him.

"I'm sorry, A.J. But my mind is made up." He says. Damn he would been a major help to us but we would have to do it without him.

"Okay, Bruce I understand. If you decide to change your mind. You know where to find me. Until then I hope you only know peace with the other guy." I said to him and we both laugh out.

"Yeah peace with him." He says sarcastically. "I have to find a way back to my island." He tells me and this time Alex speaks up.

"I can make arrangements for that." She says to him and he smiles.

"Thank you." He says to her and we exit the room leaving Bruce to himself.

"We will have to stick to our original plan then." Kara says and I nod my head.
