Soda ran a hand through his hair as he left the garage, locking the door to the shop and just leaning his forehead against the wall beside.

He was so, so tired.

He'd hardly slept a wink since Ponyboy had run away with Johnny, his worry wouldn't let him, but he still had to go to work, and doing an eight hour shift on an hour of sleep wasn't the best thing in the world to do.

Standing there for a moment or two, he took a deep breath before standing up straight and turning around, jumping when someone appeared in front of him.

Laughing gently he shook his head. "Sandy," He breathed. "Don't scare me like that."

Sandy took a deep breath. "Sorry," She whispered.

Soda stared at her for a second before frowning. "Hey," He murmured. "Somethin' wrong?"

Sandy was quiet, looking anywhere but Soda's eyes. "I'm sorry about Pony," She whispered. "He's a good kid."

Soda's frown got a little deeper. Whilst he was sure that she was sorry, that was clearly not the reason she had come to find him.

He placed a finger under her chin, lifting her head so he could look at her properly. "Talk to me." He mumbled, heart beginning to race - surely this couldn't be good.

Sandy finally made eye contact with him, and Soda watched as her eyes brimmed with tears,

"I - I need to tell you something Soda." She whispered. "But you gotta promise me you ain't gonna get mad."

Soda didn't know what to say to this, so he just nodded his head, moving his hand to Sandy's shoulder.

Sandy was quiet for a long while, dropping her gaze again as she took a deep breath. "Soda," She swallowed hard. "I - I'm pregnant Soda."

Soda froze, unsure if he had heard that right.

Sandy was pregnant?

He was confused for a moment, swallowing hard. "What- how-" He paused. "We never-"

"Soda," Sandy cut him off with just his name, and then just stared at him, waiting.

Soda took a deep, shaky breath, pulling his hand slowly from Sandy's shoulder. "You - You're carryin' someone else's baby." He choked out. "You - You were with someone else."

Sandy just nodded, too choked up to say much.

Soda was horrified. "Who?" He whispered.

Sandy shook her head. "It doesn't matter, I ain't gonna see him again, it was - was a one night thing-"

"A one night thing?!" Soda nearly laughed, tears in his own eyes now. "Does he know?"

"Yeah." Sandy whispered. "He helped pay for the hospital."

Soda ran a hand through his hair, leaning back against the door, silent.

He was feeling so many different emotions right now he just didn't know what to say or do.

Sandy, the girl he loved, the girl he wanted to marry, the girl he chose when he most definitely could've had any other girl, the love of his life - had cheated on him.

Not only just cheated, she'd slept with someone else and was now carrying a baby, a baby that wasn't Soda's, because they had never - Soda would of never, not until they were married, because Sandy wasn't just another girl, he loved and respected her, so he was going to wait. But now-

"Soda please say something." Sandy whispered.

Soda forced back his tears, standing up straight.

Then it struck him - this could destroy Sandy.
