As the sun peeked through my window, casting a warm glow over my room, I could hardly contain my excitement. Today was the day. I was finally heading to Hogwarts with my brother, James, and the thought sent a thrill through me. I quickly jumped out of bed, my heart racing at the adventure that awaited.

I moved through my room in a flurry, gathering my things for the journey ahead. My wand—definitely a must-have. I grabbed it from my bedside table and tucked it safely into my pocket. Next came my favorite spellbooks; I couldn't wait to dive into Charms and Transfiguration. I even packed my trusty plush owl, for comfort. After all, a bit of home would be nice in the grand halls of Hogwarts.

"James, hurry up!" I called, my voice echoing through the house. I could hear him rummaging around, probably looking for those ridiculous lucky Quidditch socks he insisted he needed for our first day. Typical James. I couldn't help but chuckle as I imagined him, likely making a mess in the process.

"Just a sec!" he shouted back. "These socks are crucial!"

I rolled my eyes, grinning. He was always such a jokester, but I loved that about him. We were a team, and the idea of facing this new world together made my heart swell with happiness.

With everything finally packed, I took a moment to look around my room. The walls were adorned with posters of magical creatures and sketches I'd drawn over the years. It felt bittersweet to leave it all behind, but the promise of Hogwarts was too enticing to resist.

"Alright, Hogwarts, here we come!" I whispered to myself, a determined smile spreading across my face. I could almost picture the grand castle, the Sorting Hat ceremony, and all the incredible adventures waiting for us.

Just then, James appeared in the doorway, wearing a slightly lopsided grin and one mismatched sock. "Ready to go, partner?"

"Absolutely!" I replied, my excitement bubbling over. Together, we would take on whatever challenges lay ahead, and I couldn't wait to see what this magical journey had in store for us.

As we made our way down the stairs, the smell of breakfast wafted through the air, making my stomach rumble in anticipation. Our parents were bustling around the kitchen, preparing for our big day. I felt a rush of warmth as I saw my mum, her hair tied back and a smile on her face, while Dad was already donning his wizarding robes, ready to lead us to the station.

"Are you two excited?" Mum asked, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm as she set a plate of toast on the table.

"More than excited!" James exclaimed, practically bouncing on his heels. "I can't wait to see the Hogwarts Express!"

Dad chuckled, ruffling James's hair. "Just remember to stick together once you get there. There's a lot to take in."

"Don't worry, Dad," I reassured him, grabbing a piece of toast. "We'll be fine!"

With a final check of our bags—wands, books, and more—we gathered at the door. The four of us stepped outside, the morning air crisp and refreshing. I could feel the excitement bubbling inside me as I took in the sight of our little village, knowing it would soon be filled with magic.

As we walked to the train station, Mum and Dad chatted about the school year ahead. "You'll love your classes," Mum said, glancing back at us. "And don't forget to try out for the Quidditch team, James!"

"Of course! I'm going to be the best Seeker Hogwarts has ever seen," he declared confidently, puffing out his chest.

"I'll hold you to that," Dad replied, a playful grin on his face.

When we reached the station, the bustling crowd added to my excitement. The Hogwarts Express was waiting, steam billowing into the sky. I could see other families gathered, laughter and chatter filling the air as students waved goodbye to their parents.

"Alright, you two," Dad said, kneeling down to our level. "Remember, keep an eye on each other. If you need anything, just send an owl."

"We will, Dad," I promised, squeezing his hand.

Mum pulled us both into a tight hug. "We're so proud of you. Enjoy every moment."

"Thanks, Mum," I said, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement.

As we stepped onto the platform, I glanced back at my parents one last time. They waved enthusiastically, their faces filled with pride. With one last look, James and I boarded the train, our hearts racing with anticipation for the adventure ahead. Hogwarts was calling, and we were ready to answer.

Once aboard the Hogwarts Express, James and I made our way down the aisle, the cheerful chatter of students filling the air. My heart raced with anticipation; I was ready to meet new friends and dive into the magic of Hogwarts.

"Let's find a good spot!" James said, his excitement palpable as he led the way.

As we moved further down the train, we spotted an empty compartment and decided to peek inside. Just as we reached for the door, we heard laughter from within. I nudged James, my curiosity piqued. "Should we go in?"

"Absolutely!" he replied, throwing open the door.

Inside were three boys we hadn't met yet. One had wild, dark hair and an infectious grin—Sirius Black. Another, with sandy hair and kind eyes, was Remus Lupin. The third, shorter and rounder, was Peter Pettigrew, who looked up at us with wide, eager eyes.

"Hey there!" Sirius said, his grin widening. "Newbies?"

"Yeah! I'm James, and this is my sister, Grace," James introduced us, his enthusiasm making me smile.

"Nice to meet you!" I said, stepping forward. "Are you first-years too?"

"Yep!" Peter said, bouncing slightly in his seat. "We're all trying to figure out what house we'll end up in."

"I hope it's Gryffindor!" James exclaimed, practically beaming.

Sirius laughed, leaning back with an easy confidence. "You're in luck, mate. I have a feeling you'll fit right in with Gryffindor. Besides, we could use some new friends to shake things up."

Remus smiled warmly, his demeanor calm and inviting. "It's nice to meet you both. I'm Remus. Don't worry, the Sorting isn't as scary as it sounds."

James nodded eagerly. "What are you guys hoping for?"

"Honestly, I just want a place where I can keep learning about magic," Remus replied thoughtfully. "And maybe a bit of fun along the way."

"Fun is definitely on the agenda!" Sirius chimed in, winking at us. "Just wait until you see the castle. It's massive!"

I felt my excitement swell as we settled into conversation. The boys shared stories about their summer, and James eagerly talked about his Quidditch dreams, while I listened, fascinated.

"What about you, Grace?" Peter asked, his curiosity evident. "What do you want to do at Hogwarts?"

"I want to try everything!" I said, feeling a bit bold. "I'm especially looking forward to Charms and maybe even Care of Magical Creatures."

"Sounds like we'll have to team up for some adventures," Sirius said with a playful smirk. "And if you ever need backup in a duel, I'm your guy."

"Dueling already?" I laughed. "We haven't even been sorted yet!"

As the train chugged along, the laughter and camaraderie filled the compartment. I felt a warmth spread through me; meeting these new friends made the excitement of Hogwarts even more real.

With James by my side and new friends around us, I knew this year would be one filled with adventures, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Hogwarts was going to be our playground, and I couldn't wait to dive in.
