I thought there was
Only one me
Living in down town
Jackson,Mississippi
Some may fail
To agree,but I call it
The land of
Milk and honey,

I used to chase after
Cornfields and sunflowers,
Waving off bees,
Bitting through millies,
Like sugar cane
So sweet,
Melting my taste buds till
I'm weak.

I sing and dance to the
Sound of summer
Music,playing in my
Head cause the city
Around me seems so
dead,

I pluck the wheat out
Of dry soil,while
The heat from the fire
Makes my blood
Boil.
Everything around me
Fills my heart with
Joy,

Making me seem like
That kid who cried
For just one toy,
Now I'm all grown up
And still feel like
A lonely and helpless
Boy,

Whose pain faded
Away the day I heard
Folks saying to
Mama,
"I saw your son walking
Around,
He is tall,skinny,
Well dressed,cute face,
Curls in his hair

But couldn't really tell
Cause his face
Was all up in the ground"

similar features to
A drug addict after
Rehab,
Clean and neat yet
Lost in frowns
Easy to mislead.

I began to search
For you,
The way I'm acting
Got the others
Thinking me
Having an identical
Should be a crime,
How do I tell them,
I'm starting to fall in
Love with you
Overtime.

Maybe it's because
The parts of me,
I can't see have been
Found in you,
Maybe I'm wrong or
Maybe it's just me feeling
This way,

However we both
Don't know each others
Names,
For the man I speak of
Ain't a soul that walked
By today, but a
Picture of the young boy,
I saw crying on
His ten year old birthday.

Guess it's time for me
To pack up and
Leave,
Love calls me not to grieve!
