Trese Anaya's Point of View
It's a typical Saturday, and without classes to keep me busy, I find myself lounging on the veranda of our house, with Yukio and Kasha. These two decided to come over and mess with me. I kind of needed the distraction. There's something I can't quite admit to myself lately.
"Hey, Kasha, pag Doctor ka na, make sure to fix our healthcare system first!" Yukio suddenly blurted out, causing both Kasha and I to glance at him. His randomness is truly something else.
Sinasapian na naman ang isang 'to kakanood ng kung ano ano sa tiktok.
"What? Dude, I just saw a TikTok video of Doc Willie Ong. He's sick and ranting about how broken the healthcare system is!" Yukio shouted, seemingly out of nowhere. Kaya naman pala, I like his for you page ha, very informative.
I raised an eyebrow, still processing the randomness. "Since when did you care about that? Kala ko tapos na pagiging pag-asa ng bayan era mo?"
"I'm not joking ha, it's been a long-standing issue, tapos walang nangyayari? How can you not care when nothing ever changes?" he answered. I had to admit—he had a point.
Gumagana rin pala ang utak ng isang 'to, kala ko puro inom lang ang ginagawa sa buhay. Political Science nga pala course into.
"Okay, hirap rumebat sayo eh," I said, totoo naman feeling ko matatalo lang ako pag hinamon ko ng debate 'tong si Yukio. "Kasha, random question... are you and Diego, you know... together? Because you two are always hanging out." I asked casually, throwing a glance her way. Ayoko na kasing kausapin pa si Yukio kaya si Kasha na lang.
Kasha cut me off before I could finish, "No, we're in thee same RLE group, that's all." Her response was sharp, and I couldn't help but smirk at the clarity. So, that's why they're always together. Praise was overreacting for no reason last night. Jalosi talaga, siraulong yon.
"Good to know. Now I have an answer ready the next time my other friend asks," I teased.
"What's going on?" Yukio looked puzzled, clearly lost in the conversation.
"None of your business," Kasha replied coldly, in her usual tone.
"Parang hindi tropa!" Yukio shot back, though I could see the puppy-dog eyes forming on his face. Typical Yukio.
"It's not my place to say..." I added, trying to keep the mystery alive.
"Oh, so we're keeping secrets now, Kasha?" Yukio was pouting at this point.
