Trese Anaya's Point of View
"Ayos ba?" Lumabas si Dale mula sa closet, and I couldn't help but giggle a bit when I saw him. He was wearing a gray suit with leather loafers-completely out of his usual style. It was my first time seeing him look this decent. Normally, he's always in tees, baggy pants, and Converse shoes. Streetwear, in other words. He had insisted on wearing those for tonight's dinner, but of course, I didn't let him.
"Much better, you look like a human now," I said sarcastically, eyeing him from head to toe. "Kala ko hayop ka na forever!" I said as a joke.
Dale shot me a playful glare, clearly not thrilled with the suit but wearing it anyway. Wala naman siyang choice.
Diego, who stood proudly beside Dale, suddenly clapped his hand, isa rin 'to minsan nababaliw. "That's what I mean! Elegance!" He gave a thumbs up, admiring his handiwork. "You look good, brother!"
We are at Diego's Condo, I ask for his help sa susuotin ni Dale mamaya sa Dinner and he said yes right away, he loves fashion kaya hindi pa nag tanong kung bakit si Dale ang inaya kong i-escort ako sa dinner na yan at hindi siya, madalas kasing siya ang inaaya ko as dates or companion kapag may events.
Maybe it has to do with him suddenly dating Kasha. I did expect it because I have the guts to. But I thought Kasha was really in love with Praise.
"Ang bigat naman ng damit mo, pre." Dale complained, tugging at his suit jacket. "Or maybe I'm just not used to wearing this kind of expensive outfit. Can I just wear my black tee inste-"
"NO!" I cut him off, knowing exactly where that conversation would go if I let it. There's no way he's stepping out of here tonight in a black t-shirt and just his usual baggy denims. Kahit maglupasay pa siya, it's not gonna happen.
Diego chuckled on Dale's reaction, sinusuri pa kasi nito ang suot niya at halatang hindi sanay sa ganong suotan. "I heard about your brother and your prof-" I cut Diego off.
"Yeah, yeah-now shut up," I quickly interjected, not wanting to get into that discussion right now. I had enough on my mind without adding the awkward tension between me and Lenore. "It's my turn to dress up."
"By the way, bakit naman si Dale ang na-isip mong maka-date sa dinner niyo with the Everette's tonight?" Diego suddenly asked, I thought he'd never be curious about it na. "Pwede naman ako?" He said.
"And what? Eh kayo nga ni Kasha, diba? Plus... I don't want to add up more sa rumors about us." I said, he nodded like he agreed with what I said.
"You have a point.." He said
So it's true that he's dating Kasha? I wanted to ask more but, next time na siguro.
Earlier, before coming to Diego's condo, I picked up a simple yet elegant maxi dress from a boutique in town. Nothing too flashy, just something that would match Dale's suit. I didn't want to be overly dressed.
