Trese Anaya's Point of View

It was lunchtime, but none of us had breakfast since we failed to wake up early. Sino ba naman ang may gustong magising ng maaga? After last night’s lavish and wild party—and whatever happened in Suite 1067—I felt like I never wanted to wake up again.

"Fuck this headache," Yukio groaned, rubbing his temples.

"Well, happy birthday," Kasha quipped, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Mas masakit pag walang ulo."

"What a great comforting and therapeutic words from a Student Nurse!" Yukio said.

Right after Kasha’s snarky greeting, the two immediately fell into their usual bickering. Hindi na sila lumaki, parang hindi uso ang growth or maturity sa dalawang ito kung minsan. I usually join them, but now, I had no intention of joining in—I was too occupied, my mind barely functioning. I wasn’t sure if it was because of the alcohol from last night or because of a certain someone lingering in my thoughts.

The argument came to an halt when Dale and Fonso appeared at our table. Napatingin ako sa kanilang dalawa na buo ang pagtataka. It was odd seeing them here. I knew why Praise was around, but these two? No clue.

"Mind if we join you guys?" Fonso asked casually.

"Why not? Dale was Tres boyfriend after all," Yukio scoffed, still visibly irritated. "By the way, thanks pala at pumunta kayo kagabi sa party ko, pare."

Now, alam ko na kung bakit nandito ang dalawang ito. Wala talagang pinalalampas, basta ma-invite pupunta talaga.

"Hey... babe," Dale greeted smoothly, his voice gentle. "Biglaang napunta ako rito, itong si fonso kaso." Oh, right. Among everyone at this table, Yukio was the only one still in the dark. Wala nga pala siyang alam ukol sa totoong nangyayari or sa plano.

"Pfft… ano ba yan, wala na bang ibang tawagan? Babe talaga?" Kasha muttered under her breath, leaning closer to me. She's teasing me, alam kong wala na akong matatago sa kanya ngayon. She knows already, so ano pa ba ang expectations ko rito?

"Hey, glad you came." I acknowledged Dale before shifting my attention elsewhere. "Where's Praise?" Not that I expected her to be here. Palagay ko kasi kahit manigas yon ngayon, she wouldn’t willingly sit at this table. Nandito si Kasha eh, now that I'm a bit aware sa relationship nila noon.

"Nandon sa geldi, nagtatampo," Fonso replied with amusement.

Kasha nearly choked on her drink. The reaction was obvious—these two had something going on. Kaya nabibisto eh.

"Poor thing, huh?" I mused.

"Super. Totoo. Nakakaawa talaga siya," Fonso echoed, grinning.

"Where exactly is she?" Kasha’s voice turned cold, her tone a stark contrast to the playful atmosphere just moments ago. Kita mo 'to? Sobrang caring sa ex.

"Oh? Should I call her over?" Dale teased, smirking. Fonso and I chuckled.

Kasha didn’t respond, but we all knew she was already worrying. So I make fonso to call her and join us.

It wasn’t long before Praise finally showed up. As expected, she couldn’t handle being alone for too long. The moment she arrived, however, the energy at the table shifted. Kasha fell silent, focusing on her food instead.

"Ah, by the way, Tres," Praise suddenly said, turning to me. "Nakita ko yung Kuya mo kanina. Uno’s here."

I stilled.
