"Over-thinking ruins you. Ruins the situation, twists things around, makes you worry and just makes everything much worse than it actually is."

Rose Emerson

"Mate." He purrs in my ear.

I don't know what to do. Oh, God. If I let him close to me then my dad will for sure kill me or even hunt Tyler down.

I know I shouldn't have let Violet speak to me or even be my friend, but she was so willing to be my friend. She might even get hurt too and I don't want that.

Who ever comes close to me gets hurt and I don't want these people getting hurt, ever. Violet barely knew me and let me in her house. She tried getting me to tell her what happened and why I was bruised. She cares even though we met just yesterday.

I get out of his arms and stand up. He looks at me with confusion and stands up too. He makes a move to come closer to me but I grab my backpack and run out of the classroom.

I run down the school hall and out from the front door. Once I'm out of school I lean against the brick wall and breathe in and out.

"Running away from something or someone?" A deep, raspy voice asks.

I jump and look to my left to see a boy my age with brown messy hair and brown eyes. He was leaning on the brick wall and looking at me with a playful smirk.

"Uh, no. I just needed fresh air." I say.

I breathe in the fresh air, but also catch the scent of a werewolf.

He tilts his head and looks at me. "Sure, whatever you say."

"It's true!" I exclaim.

"Mhm. It's okay, I won't tell anyone. What's your name?"

"What's yours?" I ask.

He chuckles. "I asked you first, but since you kindly asked, I'm Myles Taylor."

"I'm Rose Emerson."

We don't talk after that and I start to think about why I am talking to this boy, Myles. I shouldn't be talking to him. I really shouldn't be trying to be a friend. Hell, I knew what the consequences are and yet I'm starting to not follow the rules of not talking to anyone as soon as these new people came.

I should just go back inside and try to avoid Tyler. I push myself off the brick wall and walk to the schools front door. I open the door and walk down the hallway. I hear feet shuffling behind me, but I don't look back. A hand grabs my arm and I stop in my tracks.

"Why did you leave out of no where?" Myles asks. "I thought we were becoming best friends out there."

I grimace. "I have to go to class."

Lier. Myra mind links me.

I know. I mind link back.

I shove his hand off my arm and walk towards the library. I walk all the way to the back. I see my usual round table and set my bag down on the table and sit on one of the chairs. I open up my bag and look inside it.

I think I left my notebook in the science classroom beside Tyler. Oh, my.

I bang my head on the table and groan. I bang it again and just let my forehead rest on the cold surface. I stay like that for about five minutes when someone approaches me.

"Having trouble?" Violet asks.

I hear her sit on the seat beside me and I look up and meet her blue eyes. She smiles at me and rests her chin on her hands.
