"You saw exactly what?" My dad says in his serious voice.

"Red eyes, dad. I saw red eyes." I say.

He rubs his chin and furrows his eyebrows. "Red eyes only belong to rogue werewolves. Soo, which means you saw a rogue."

"A rogue? In our territory? Why didn't the guards notice? It was practically staring into my soul with absolute hunger. It was like it wanted to drain me of my blood."

"Asher, Cole go and search the perimeter. Tell everyone to spot for rogue who passed the territory. NOW!" Dad orders.

I walk behind Cole when my dad stops me.

"Rose, where do you think you're going?" He asks.

"With Asher and Cole." I say.

He sighs. "I don't want you getting hurt if there's a roaming rogue on our territory."

I rub my temples. "I can protect myself, please dad."

"No and that's final."

"Fine."

I'm texting Violet and Tyler while sitting in front of my window when I catch movement coming from the bushes. I put my phone down and look at the bushes.

It's there again!

The red eyes.

I take one last lingering look before dashing out of my room and down the stairs towards the back door. I leave the house and go towards the bushes.

The bushes are deep into the forest and I pass tree by tree. When I reach the bushes I see no one.

No red eyes, no nothing.

I look around and see no one. I trying catch a scent, but all I smell is dried blood along with a horrible stench. I can't locate where the stench went because it's all over the place.

I'm attacked from the side and thrown to the ground. My leg is grabbed by a set of sharp teeth and I hiss in pain. I'm dragged closer to the animal that attacked me.

The animal goes on top of me and I hadn't realized that my eyes were closed so I open them. My eyes stare into a pair of red eyes and my body go stiff under the huge rogue wolf on top of me.

It's teeth snaps at me and it growls. I try to move, but I can't because it's too heavy. The wolfs sharp claws dig into my skin and I semi yell.

Focus, Rose, focus.

I feel the weight being lifted off me and I hear the wolf whimper. I open my eyes and see the wolf tangled in roses and their thorn filled stems.

I walk towards the wolf and stare into its eyes.

"Shift!" I demand.

The wolfs ears flap down and it whimpers. I untangle the wolf and set it free. It tries to turn away, but I block it with a wall of roses.

"SHIFT NOW!" I demand it.

The wolf bows down in terror and morphs into a female around my age. She lifts her knees up to her chest to cover herself.

"What is your business here?" I ask.

She lifts her head and her eyes are no longer red, but a hazel colour. She stayed quiet though.

I can sense Asher and Cole coming my way. They run to my side and I see Asher's furious stare.

"Didn't father tell you to stay out of this?" He asks.
