"She turned her can'ts into cans."❀Rose Emerson❀
I have to go somewhere.
But where?
I don't know where to go. Why did I even leave? Oh, yes. That's right I left because of fucking Dale and if he's in the guest room then that means he's staying for awhile and I won't take that.
I sit down on the green grass of the forest and sigh. I don't want to bother Violet or anyone for that matter, but I have nowhere to go. I'm not sure if I can go to a hotel because I don't know if I'll have enough money.
Call Violet and ask if you can stay at hers for awhile. Myra mind links me.
No, I can't do that. She will not get involved and that's final. I mind link back.
Her and her family will be able to protect you. You don't need to be afraid.
I can't and I won't.
My phone vibrates and I look at the screen. The screen reads: Violet. She's calling me, but why? Should I answer it or ignore it?
Answer it, you little shit.
I'm not a little shit, okay? Leave me alone.
Never, scaredy cat. ^•_•^
My thump hovers above the green answer button and I tap on the screen. I lift the phone to my ear and answer.
"Hello." I say through the phone.
I hear shuffling. "Hey! Uh, Rose.. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"
"... It's because you don't sound okay. Want to come over and talk about it?"
Should I? No, no, no, I can't. I can't let her in more than she is. I certainly can't.
Take the chance, Rose. Take it.
I hesitate. "Erm, sure. See you in a bit?"
"Okay, yeah! Bye, Rose. See you!" She says then I hang up.
I don't move from the ground and focus my eyes on the grassy spot a foot away from me. I narrow my eyes and think of a rose. In a blink of an eye, a rose is right in front of me. It's bloomed and red. I think it grew from the ground and I reach for it. I grab the rose, but flinch and pull my hand back. It has thorns.
"What the..?" I murmur.
I reach for it again, but avoid the thorns. I pull it from the ground and bring it close to my chest. I touch the petals and bring the rose up to my nose and take a sniff.
I hold it in my hand as I walk towards Violets house. I recall the last time we walked to her house and follow the path we did. I reach her house and stare at it for a bit before walking up the pathway to the front door. I raise my fist, but bring it back down.
Do it, Rose. You can let her in. Myra mind links me.
No, I can't. I mind link back.
Yes, you can.
I take a deep breath and decide to do the right thing. I raise my fist and knock on Violet's front door.
I can.
The door swings open and Violet smiles at me before tackling me in a hug. I make sure to not squish the rose. I pat her back and then she leads me into her house and into her room.
