Back at the Chateau, Theo was getting ready to go to dinner for the evening with the group. They had spent all day shopping for the girls and he knew Ginny had bought some new clothes, he also knew she had no idea how much her new wardrobe just cost.
He had paid a substantial tip to the store owner of the one store she liked the most, for that owner to act as if everything Ginny bought was 'affordable'. He knew she was sensitive when it came to money but, he had an abundance.
The smile that lit up her face when she spent the money she had thinking she had got a bargain and was able to get what she wanted. That was priceless.
They were going to a fine dining establishment, the kind that required a certain esteem to even get a table, thankfully between the names Nott, Malfoy, Zabini and Parkinson he didn't have to pull the Potter card. He didn't think Potter would appreciate that very much even with the recent business proposition.
At this point it was pretty obvious to everyone that Potter and Draco had something going on, about time in his humble opinion. Draco had been a drama queen for as long as he could remember and they had know each other since well before school.
Seeing him get a talking to from Ginny was, however, a moment he would cherish for whatever is left of his life. The only strange part about this new Draco was that he actually smiled more than ever. Theo was pretty sure he could count on one hand with them both behind his back the amount of time he had witnessed Draco smile.
Like genuinely smile.
When they were younger Draco was a great friend to have and still is but, it wasn't easy being friends with a Malfoy. It kept them all on leashes really. Now, Draco wasn't held to his father anymore, same as Theo and yet those ghost haunt never the less. Seeing his friend who would usually show satisfaction by simply not berating or teasing them, smile and laugh, with Potter no less.
Well, it gave him hope for his own future. Maybe even the prospect of a future of some kind with a certain fiery red head that currently lived with him.
Ok lived with him was a bit of a stretch, they had separate wings of the chateau, even if hers was the one closest to him. That didn't stop him from wondering what it would be like to wake up with her even closer. He vaguely thought about her family, that would be a trial, they didn't really like Slytherins as far as he knew.
This little weekend trip for Potter did have the fantastic side mission of getting two of Ginny's closest friends to see he wasn't a prat most of the time. Although there was the down side of Blaise and Pansy being able to tell Ginny just how much of a prat he had been.
The more he was around Gin the more he wished he could change the way he used to be. The more he wished he had something good to tell her, to show her. He wanted to be better, she made him want to be a better person. He had done a lot but the orphanage was the only selfless thing he had done.
But that was for kids, he wasn't heartless.
His other projects were hardly selfless, there was still a prophet to be had and he had chose this line of work because it had a certain anonymity, something that benefited him because of his past.
The idea she would be interested in him for anything was highly unlikely. Friends at best and not even close ones where she would seek his confidence. More like a curtesy invite to a party or ball..... Or wedding.
He took a look at the final result of his outfit, he needed to look his finest for where they were dining but he also wanted something that he could easily dress down for a bar or club. Blaise and Pansy had loved the nightlife last time they visited so, he was hoping they could help him convince the others to go.
