It was an interesting development and Theodore Nott was a man who took advantage of interesting developments. Ginny Weasley had contacted him to enquire lodgings for herself for the next 6 months and if he could impress her, maybe his plan would finally be able to get off the ground. This was contingent on her giving him a chance to impress her and not go running, yelling Death eater.

He and Draco had one thing in common, well a few things but, the main one was they both had marked death eaters as fathers. Draco had been unfortunate enough to get the mark and a mission he was predicted to fail at. He only got marked, though he had no involvement in anything, he had played the helpless weakling in front of that maniac and he didn't take notice of the Nott boy. Only the Malfoy heir.

He hated himself as a friend for just standing back and letting Draco get pulled in but, at the time he had no idea where Draco stood on the whole Dark lord agenda.

They had spoken about it briefly and Draco had told him that he was smart to stay away and out of the way. The ministry had nothing but the mark on him and as he received it under duress and while he was under age, it had counted as nothing. He had a closed trial and his records were closed so, no one could find anything on him.

He might have been clean but, his family name was not. The name Nott had become synonymous with evil and corrupt. He had to leave the UK and the only place he knew of was the estate in Paris his mum took him to before she died. That had been years ago and he could barely remember anything.

His father was in Azkaban for the rest of his life and Theo had been made head of his family. He tried to convince Leo, his younger brother, to leave with him and finish at Beauxbatons but, he stubbornly stayed where he was. They had both been raised by house elves so, Theo had no problem leaving his brother unattended and Leo had steered clear of the whole war business. Freedoms of being second born.

Even moving to Paris had not been enough though, there was enough news going around and mention of his father after the war that he felt the strain even in France but, it was easier. Mostly he had to worry about weariness. The name made people reluctant but, once they took the risk at his heavily reduced prices, he was able to get their endorsement.

He had since managed to fix up the Paris city estate and had it almost full of tenants. His system working flawlessly and while his profits had not been huge, he was making money. The properties grew when he went through his family assets and realized he had several estates all over Europe. So, began the journey to each to have them renovated for use and he created his housing system. He had any kind of accommodation, for those vacationing, for those staying only on a part time schedule because of work travel and those who were looking for a permanent residence.

More than a year later he had his own reputation but, his father's reputation still haunted him, like a shadow that never leaves, clinging to him.

If he could get Ginny Weasley to endorse him though, that would be a beloved family name attached to the business. It wasn't a selfish plot; he was trying to create an orphanage that was completely paid for and was then self-sustainable. He had invested in a woman who had seen to take in the kids left behind and lost.

There were a lot of kids that lost their parents that the Ministry just ignored, not intentionally but, there was never a department to deal with it. Most of the time there was family to take in the children and that was that. This time though some of these kids were the last of their line or had no other family to speak of.

It was a mixture of pureblood strays, Muggleborn and half-blood runaways, who returned to find them running had not saved their parents. Brittain didn't see the factions of supporters that were amassing in Europe, waiting for the dark lords' victory and a chance to show their allegiance.
