Ginny had found it hard to stay away from Theo but, she started to think that maybe he was avoiding her. It had only been this morning when she had seen him as usual at breakfast and after that he had offered to show her where the Half pitch was in the grounds and how to get there. There had been a small incident, ok it was a bigger incident to her but, for him.... Surely, he was not averse to contact between them, he escorted her around leading with arm offered. She blushed to herself, maybe he had noticed how the whole thing made her feel and was avoiding her because of that.
She hoped not. She thought back to the morning as she walked back to where she thought she had to enter her Suite from.
Breakfast had been the normal affair of weird domestic companionship, which was growing on Ginny. The walk to the pitch was normal, he regaled her with information about the grounds and some of the plans he had for it all. She knew it could be all words but, they were such pretty words, Ginny had found herself daydreaming while he spoke. He was so fancy, he used words like poetry. Weaving a picture for her.
His lips moved and she found herself staring at them, no longer taking in what he was saying but rather, thinking about what those lips would feel like against her neck or her own lips. They looked firm and sure, like he knew exactly what he would do with them, like the precision of his words. Every little touch would be a purposefully placed point of pleasure. She bit her own lip as she had thought about it. Then she remembered him stopping abruptly.
Everything happened in slow motion for her then. She was wearing a white day dress with ballet flats for the casual stroll, that turned out to be the wrong choice. Theo had said something she couldn't remember, then stopped. Her focus left his lips and moved to his wide eyes as she tripped over her flats when she spun to ask why he had stopped.
She had fallen backwards, he had lunged to stop her from tripping but, she had just dragged him down with her. Straight into the mote surrounding the pitch they were at, apparently Theo had been telling her to wait for the draw bridge.
They had both ended up soaked but, the mote was only about a foot or so deep. This meant they were a wet tangle of limbs until they settled. When they settled from their fall however, he was on top of her, between her legs and holding her around the waist, holding her out of the water. They were panting and made eye contact, it had all gone to hell from there for her. Her traitorous mind willing him in that moment, he gaze dropping to his panting lips, to just kiss her.
He must have misinterpreted the look on her face because his lips formed the words,
"Ginevra, are you ok?"
She had placed her hand on his chest to reassure him she was fine and could feel the erratic beating of his heart, it matched her heart thump-thumping in her chest. She couldn't stop thinking of him kissing her right then, like the novels she read. It might have been noticeable or he did entirely miss it but, she had leaned in slightly to take matters into her own hands and he had leaned back possibly thinking she had wanted to get up. Or using it as an excuse to get away. He had jumped up so quickly, Ginny had blushed in embarrassment instantly thinking he was not into her at all. Then he had also blushed and somehow even drenched, looked poise as he offered to help her up while profusely apologizing to her.
Which was stupid it had ben her own daft fault. She had no way of truly knowing but, she suspected that the whole situation had left him uncomfortable because he had told her there were showers and her quidditch things would be brought to her by Kipley. Then he stalked away wet and dripping, head held high but, briskly.
She had barely got a word in at all and had been left feeling very stupid. Except she cast a drying charm on her and he had walked off all sopping wet.
She had used the fly to think and had hoped he was just going to get changed and come back, he had not. So, she had decided to see if he was in another part of the grounds. This had the unfortunate side effect of getting her a bit lost. She was at the back of the Château near the mazes and she didn't want to go into them. She went to the door she was fairly sure would lead to a hallway to the common foyer where the Floo was, from there she should find her rooms.
